I like storage wars, but I love digging in other people's junk- thrift stores, garage sales, stuff out on the street.. so it's like vicarious digging

Is this on Discovery or National Geographic? We usually get those shows after a year or two. Or three.

There are only two I watch, BB and Amazing Race. I gave up on Survivor a few years ago.

I just thought of another "popular" one called toddlers and tiaras or something like that, it's more than disturbing!

Sigh. Unfortunately, those shows are all on Dh's channel surfing route except for the real housewives so I have seen bits of all of them. Storage Wars is kind of interesting.

"American Pickers" can be pretty interesting...They are in search of valuable antiques, collectables, etc. If you're interested in those kinds of things then thte show is a fun way of learning about what's valuable and what's not.

I know a fellow is actually buys the contents of storage rooms in RL. The auctions run just like they do on TV but the dollar amounts don't go as high. He and his wife will take the stuff they get, put a little work into it and then sell it for a profit through second hand consignment stores and thrift malls, etc. He makes a pretty good supplement to his retirement.

I know a woman who is a "dumpster diver", she is very well off, very intelligent, always very presentable. But once or twice a week she dons boots, jeans, gloves and dives store dumpsters. She has recycled thousands of dollars worth of brand new merchandise that stores toss then she donates most of it to thrift stores/womens shelters.

I've been using it since I was 14. Everytime I try and change my skin reacts badly to the new stuff, so I've simply given up trying to change. Not sure what I'll do if they ever go out of business!

I think it runs on the "Science Channel" here...I believe that "Science Channel" is a member of the Discovery family of channels.
