Kindle Fire charging port getting loose

My daughters is so bad, I can't get it to charge. Did you get yours fixed?

If it freezes up hold the power button for 20-30seconds and it does a hard reset. I have to do that every kpw and again. Talk to customer support and they should replace it. So far with.my replacement have No trouble

I had thought that it was a problem with my charger and starting using my USB port or my brother's phone charger, which also has a micro usb port, before I knew that it was bad to charge my kindle with them. But, my kindle fire charger works for his phone. I now think that it is because of a loose port. Do I just call CS and tell them about it and ask for a replacement kindle? I got my kindle for Christmas of '11 so my one-year limited warranty hasn't expired yet. I really don't know how to go about and get a replacement.

yes and they are very good about replacing it, after they replace the charger and that doesn't work. From the time I called, they sent the replacement Charger (which didn't work) and then the new Kindle Fire was about 4 days.

Yes, Amazon Customer Service is great about this and the replacement arrives in 2 days (at least the first one did) and it's covered under the 1 year warranty, but I did not buy this product to last just 1 year. And after the warranty runs out, my guess is that I am hosed. And that doesn't take it account the inconvenience of losing access to the device while it is down, having to take time to call CS for a replacement, and having to reconfigure a replacement (which cannot be done via a sync operation like an iPad, i{hone, or iPod touch). With its features and form, the Kindle Fire is a great device for the money, but the product reliability seems sorely lacking.

No receipt.needed. They look it up by serial number on the account its registered on. Warrenty starts on first day registered. I think it restarts with each device they replace when you register the replacement. Unless I misunderstood the CSR I spoke with when I had to replace mine a second time.

I've had my Kindle Fire for less than a year and within 3 months of owning it I had to go buy a new charger. I got tired of fooling around the charger until the orange light came on. New charger is a little better but my guess is the port is messed up (Not my fault). I can move the KF while charging or the orange light will go off. I can't even breathe on it or it will stop charging. KF has to be laying down or standing up against a wall for it to charge.

I put my Fire on the charger last night(this is my 2nd I'm on), the battery was at 8 percent and this morning it was on 8 percent. I contacted CS and have another Fire on the way. When I checked the Fire to see if the battery was dead, it showed it was fully charged. I will see if it charges tonight or not. Either way I'm sending the old one back. I checked and it said it was already sent and should have it tomorrow(another email showed friday). They need to figure the problem out, I am already tired of having to redownload everything. SOme [programs have passwords I have stored on the KF. arg atleast they are very helpful

I am on my 3rd Fire because of this very thing with it not charging. I am not sure why they can't seem to work out the problem. With all the other kindle products that came before the Fire you would think that this would not be an issue. This is my last try with this Kindle product.

I got mine in December 2011 too, seems to have been a bad month. I've had intermittent charging problems for months, I thought it was the charger as we tried it on my girlfriend's charger last time it went out and it did charge after a fashion but they replaced the charger and it didn't seem to get any better. Then I started having the problem so many other people have that it would only charge if you held it in a certain way, then it was only charging up to about 75% of battery capacity before it would shut off. It finally quit a few days ago. Should be getting the new one by Friday, I have to say Amazon is pretty good about replacements though since this is apparently a known problem I guess they should be.

My charging cord was not working but I could charge on my cell phone charging so my problem wasn't in the Fire itself and customer service is replacing the charger with no debate or problem. Great customer service always from amazon.

customer service just told me it was ok to charge my Kindle fire with my phone charger, where did you here otherwise?

I have had the charger port problem with my Kindle Fires. This happened on my first KF so I had to get a replacement and now my second one is having the same problem. I will be getting a replacement this week. Amazon needs to improve the faulty design of their KF charger ports!

Just like you and "Amy," I got my Kindle in December '11. I noticed pretty much right away that the charging port seemed to loosen up and the cord started to wiggle while plugged in. Fast foward to August and it won't charge at all. I hope customer service is as nice about replacing mine as they have been to others.
