To Kindle I say,
Sweet Kindle let's play,
Even though your voice is Robotic
I have never felt torment
With your monosyllabic lament
While I sip my gin and tonic (bbuurrpp)

scuse me ;)~

D. Baddorf says:
My Kindle goes with, at all times
The dictionary's helpful for rhymes
But don't stop at "orange"
Or you'll need a syringe
To get you to painless-er climes.

Lynn McNamee says:
The electric company was berated
And, the thunderstorm had not abated
When patience dwindled
I brought out my Kindle
Because I knew T.V. was overrated.

He sat in his favorite old lawn chair,
Reading Kindle from dusk until dawn there,
With the weeds overgrown
And the grass never mown
Ignoring his wife's pleas of lawn-care!

:-p

D. Baddorf says:
A marvelous gadget, the Kindle.
To a whole world of books it's a windle (window)
But you must treat it gently!
Repeat to yourself mentally:
Do not mutilate, fold, drop or spindle.

The price-boycotts raged all around him,
Though, with free books, their words could not hound him.
But with Lord of the Rings
Having such mis-typings
The $14.30 sure seemed to confound him!

Silver says:
So it seems there's a certain mentality
That takes part in that awful brutality
And that Kindles resound
With these minds of renown
Or just readers have great limericallity

Harry Potter, why do you evade us?
Your author should SO serenade us!
I don't oft understand
Why these authors don't plan
To make bank with a format to elate us!

Lulu says:
Ok... brave enough to try again!

Dear Bufo your advice is sublime
Red Adept has inspired us to rhyme
Matthew Brunson write more
Hey, what's free at the store?
Kindle people are ever so fine!

This is just silly
All these limericks willy nilly
You Kindlers are certifiably nuts!
You type away, but no matter what you say
I must admit you all have a lot of guts.

Kindle 1, or Kindle 2?
I have no idea which it will be.
Boycott yes, or boycott no
I'll start some threads - 1, 2, or 3?
Priced too high? Or, priced just right?
Is it the Kindle, or e-books which you refer?
I don't know, but I've been told
A boycott will overpricing deter.
Will this thread go on night after night,
Or die out like so many have done?
I don't know, but I've been told
Maybe 3 more, maybe 2 more, or maybe just 1.

He had knowledge of the first version
But to the buttons he had an aversion
So he waited it out for a while
And continued to grow the book pile
But with K2 he has joined the conversion.

I sing the Kindle electric
Friend in a world that is hectic
From Heinlein and Twain
To Gaiman and Paine
My tastes are somewhat eclectic.

BeeCee says:
My Kindle 2 is so nice!
It's my A #1 device.
It's gotten to be a real habit,
Too read you only need grab it,
Then surrender all to the vice.

Carries books by the load
At home or out on the road.
Yet it's light as a feather
In its m-edge case made of leather
For reading...it's now my *favorite* mode.

It keeps me quite short of cash,
Of books though, I've got a good stash.
Whispernet is simply so fab
Lots of books have zero for a tab
It's buy books.....or break into a rash!

Apologies to poets everywhere :)

Bill D' says:
While sitting and reading my Kindle
The length of my free time did dwindle
So to end this great caper
I reached for some paper
But fell off when I slipped on the spindle!

D. Baddorf says:
There once was a lad from Pawtucket -
Couldn't carry a tune in a bucket!
Dad bought him a Kindle
To put those tunes into
And as for the bucket? Paw tuck it!

These are great! Keep them coming.

With the Kindle she was so obsessed
She kept a file of limericks expressed
What more could she do
She wondered anew
To enable those by the Kindle possessed.

Lynn McNamee says:
Free: The Alchemyst, by Michael Scott
Throw some Boyd Morrison in the pot
Free books galore
And still we want more
Though, $9.99 is still a sore spot.

Veena says:
So this morning at breakfast- I had to demonstrate how the kindle works to half the people in the diner... hence my inspiration for the following.

Explaining is what I do most
The kindle is great! I did boast.
But I just want to read
Can't you see my need?
So I hid behind coffee and toast.
