WordEater, unfortunately I do not have a K3, I still have my K2i which I love. I have a couple of lights for it but I prefer to read with just a table lamp and not use my lights, except for when I'm reading in bed.

Could you provide more details on how to convert a 60 watt lamp to a 3way with higher wattage?

Fritz, this is a very old thread. Look at the dates.

The only way safely change a lamp is to rewire it and put a new socket on the lamp. One that would be designed for 3-way bulb.

I think you may need to consult ...y'know... an electrician?

It's not hard to wire a lamp, I've done several. But you do need the proper parts and tools.

Well, they do sell "lamp parts" at Hobby Lobby, so I guess that's so!
