Since you're in Canada, you need to put the blame squarely where it belongs - with your own government, which has made the deliberate decision to penalize any Canadian ebook sales that aren't Kobo-friendly. Their decision seems to have been directly aimed at Amazon.

What do I think? I think you should probably know WTF you're whining about before you open your mouth.

You talk about people hiding behind anonymous names yet you don't even have your location in your profile. Too funny...

Darren may very well be your name, but with only an initial (middle name? last name? algebra grade?), you have a pretty darn anonymous screen name.

And read Mooncat's post about the Canadian government and its influence in e-book prices. Your government, not Amazon, is responsible for the prices you see.

If pricing bothers you so much, write where it will do some good. This is a customer forum and we can't do anything about the prices.

Start with the Canadian governement, then the publishers that signed the Agency Model and don't forget Apple that started the Agency Model and ....

Sorry man, I don't mean to come off as unfriendly. I'm not, but the discussion board bluntness does come off as that at times. My bad.

Regarding screen names, mine is no more or less anonymous than yours. 100% truth, and you can't deny it. A name and last initial makes yours no more or less authentic than mine.

As for your main topic, it gets a bit old. It's like somebody comes along and says "Hey, look at what you millions of morons missed but I found: Amazon is ripping you off. Amazon should be more like Apple."

Apple is a great company; they offer some of the nicest products available. But they are just as ruthless as any other company. "Alleged" is fine (and technically correct) for now, but they and the publishers involved will be found guilty of wrongdoing. That's when Amazon's pricing structure, regardless of what you think about it from other perspectives, will once again benefit the consumer.
