There seem to be two polar opposites on vision clearing with detoxification. I went through a spate of dedicated detoxification, and my eyes cleared up. Reaction to the brightness of the screen (no matter how dimmed the monitor), fuzziness, excessive tearing, need for much larger fonts all cleared up for me. I was going to rave about that as helpful, but googled first. It appears that people have polar opposites - some get better (like me), but some don't (I'm thinking temporarily). Maybe a detoxing specialist could tell you more? I just used distilled water and osmotic removal of toxins, but I understand that there is a great variety (some good, some hype) of detoxing methods out there.

Did you see the links to free audio stuff on another thread? (two posts there)

Yes, thanks, I saw them.
I wish it was excess tearing. A lot is caused by Sjogren's.

I am glad you had good luck with the method you choose.

Nospin, have you been seen by anyone? Is there a possibility that you have Blepharitis?

~nospin says:
It is not that.
I see a rheumatologist and neuro-opthamologist.

I always go for the quickest fix, Nospin. ;o)

The charging cord you recommended came today.
What a great cord that seats securely and charges without issue. I had been issues with the kinldele cord (not the Fire) that I had been using to have it plugged in while using it and starting to wonder if I needed to call CS.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012 3:36:57 PM PDT
I send those cords with all of my Kindle gifts now. I got an extra one for myself as well. It seats really well and has a lifetime warranty.
Two more M-edge covers came yesterday, one of them being the purple leather one. It is really dark in colour. Very nice, but I thought it would be a lighter colour.

I think a lot of the loose cord complaints are due to microscopic wear on the metal affecting how it seats - this cord takes care of that:-)

I actually thought the issue with the Fire was the device USB slot but it was the USB micro end on the charger itself. No more problems now. Everything works perfectly. All of the Kindles seem to charge faster with these cables as well.

That is great to know.
I have only been using it on the Fire while plugged in - wonderful so far - no drop in charging green for two hours - This way I can set it down a d pick it back up conveniently.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 26, 2012 4:30:42 PM PDT
At least the cable is long enough. The one that came with the Fire was too short IMO.

I hope so too. :'(

Absolutely, and the short length excerbated the problem.

I picked up My Name is Martha Brown on January 26th and intended to read it for the book discussion tonight. Ooops.....

Well worth the read, East Coast. Written well, and really makes me appreciate our modern times.

Donna, I can't believe I forgot to read it. I have had it for 6 months. I will move it up on my TBR list. I have been reading 5 books a week for the last 3 weeks. They are all starting to run together.

Wow, I'd say you are formally excused. I have been averaging one book every 3 weeks. Must do something about my attention span - ooh, shiny!

I am taking advantage of some down time and turning it into me time for a change.

Thank you very much. To make sure I understand right, this should solve all the complaints about the "loose USB port on the Fire" as well as those occasional laptops that won't read the Kindles?

Edit to add back lines that Ammy removed during the posting process

It solved all of our problems. The USB port on my Fire was not actually loose. The problem was with the original AC adapter.

IMO, the AC charger that comes with the Fire is nearly worthless. It feels cheap and is ill fitting.

ETA: You will still need one of these Kindle US Power Adapter (Not included with Kindle or Kindle Touch)

or Kindle US Power Adapter (Not included with Kindle or Kindle Touch)
