@ Nospin - yep. I just brought up the Settings menu again to double check. Remember we no wifi at the condo right now so I turn it on when we are somewhere it's available - like the hospital.

ETA: tomorrow my daughter can take it to B&N and continue reading her book there with wifi turned on.
Guilty Pleasure - we have both been enjoying Reader's freebies and have both read your discussion group books.

@Elizabeth
Just got back on the computer, left to take dad to doctor shortly after my message to you. Clicked!!
And that direct line? Not hardly. Just got lucky that my asking coincided with the Big Guy's original plans......now, you should see my Other list of things I asked for...:)

Yes, please.

Reader has made me feel even more responsible for her Kindles than her health care.
She told me not to Synch and I did it anyway. <groan>

Am I the only one who thinks this isn't a great idea and will only confuse the newbies who are already confused by acronyms and things like calling Amazon "Ammy?"

How much of a hardship is it to type out "NOT FREE?"

I just got a case of Cascade with phosphates that I ordered on line. I ran a load and everything came out clean and sparkling! Well worth it.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 13, 2012 5:43:38 PM PDT
I totally agree Dharts. It's not that hard to type and it's really clear. Instead there will be a barrage of what does NFN mean? And such and so isn't free. and so on.

It's time for some bird interaction/therapy time here. The macaw is getting progressively louder in his queries of "How about it?!" and "Wanna play?" and the senegal keeps asking "Whatcha doin?". Reader will be yelling at me next.

ETA: Thank you, Nospin. I will try it after I have the birds settled with Reader.

Nospin - I'll be back to look for the link.

Nospin? Did you see my post the other day thanking you for the wonderful book? It was such a sweet surprise on a day I'd had a lot of pain from this darned arm. It really made me smile.

Grandma says:
@Moggy K - there is a world of difference between cheap and thrifty. The guy who took me out on a date, drove around for a couple of hours, got lost in a town with only one road in and out, stopped at the drive-in, went in and got himself a burger and didn't offer me so much as a coke and THEN decided to take me parking was CHEAP. You are merely thrifty in a wise and thoughtful way.

Glad it made you smile dharts :)

Grandma says:
@dharts - no, you aren't the only one who thinks that at all. NOT FREE doesn't take much time, is not the least confusing (some people have trouble remembering acronyms) and has a very clear meaning that is unmistakable.

@ladyruby
I am fortunate so far that Dad is - well, a mama's boy, so if I present it right, he goes along. Started the slow introduction to community living after he mentioned again how he would like to meet a woman, then his life would be perfect (had a girlfriend, she was terminal cancer and broke it off last year), I pointed out that you need quantity to find quality, and then pointed out that a girlfriend only took care of Friday night, maybe some friends for the rest of the week would be good instead of staying alone in the house all the time. And then pointed out the benefits of community living where there were bound to be plenty of jailbait, but he could still close the door and be alone. (dad has said he wants to date younger women in their 60's cause they still look good -the man is 84 - the first time he said that, I suggested he get one old enough to drink, and he finally agreed on 70's, but they had to take care of themselves - you all have heard enough from me to know where my eyes were rolling, and see the scar on my tongue from biting it)

@dhart
dad gave blood and urine today; results tomorrow, if normal, doc will have to give referral or get off the pot. already collected 3 possible new docs, and explained to dad this afternoon that we would go for second opinion to make sure we are doing right by him.

@bj
my heart hurts for what you had to go through. And my first thought with watermelon was hydration. I could literally see dad settling down today as we got more liquid in him. I know dehydration - and it doesn't take much - leads to less mental acuity.

And you all want to know the real laugh? Dad was driving around with an expired drivers license.......:) you really can't make these things up.

Reader said the same. She thinks that NOT FREE or Not Free Now stands out more and is against the acronym.
Just Her Humble Opinion or JHHO.
