GL, to CB and Roy. I have no idea about any perks with the Pro badge but I am sure there are many others who like myself know we get excellent info from others. Thank you.

Wow thought it was me, but my kindle keyboard, sure had a delete, I spent hours trying how to delete it from my touch. ?? are we stuck with the books we don't like or did not even care enough to finish?? strange how could they over look something so basic?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 22, 2012 6:41:28 AM PDT
gimeabrak - of course you can delete books, both from your Kindle and from your library. This is not the place to discuss your Kindle Keyboard, however, so if you need help please post it in a new topic.

the option is to Send to Archives which is exactly what the Delete from Device did on the Kindle Keyboard - it's just different wording for the same option

Thank you Ann, and sorry for the response delay. Let me tell you where I am with the battery issue.

I allowed the Touch to discharge down to 1/4 power indicated, then plugged the device in and performed a factory reset. So far, that procedure seems to have worked. The thought was to start clean, and at the same time rule out a few of your suggestions.

The wireless discharge wouldn't have been an issue, since I kept it off except when downloading from the library (-the unit was plugged in during that procedure). I also ruled out text to speech since I don't use that feature on the Touch. Gaming is also a non-issue.

The only thing left, other than a defective battery or unit, was the indexing/search thing. I decided to reload to factory specs to eliminate that and anything else.

Reloading wasn't the terrible experience that one would expect. Books are loaded from the cloud back to the Touch's Archive folder, then individual books are restored to the main directory as they are needed. It was an opportunity to clear the clutter.

I'm currently performing a time evaluation on the battery. I'm actually logging hours read to see if my comparable usage times agree with Denis' 30-hour/charge duration. -Time will tell (sic).

On my Kindle Touch, sometimes delete also appears and when I delete it, the title is totally gone. Sometimes, only Send to Archives appears, then the title remains in the Archives, even after I deleted from Manage My Kindle list on Thus seeing the titles, even if they are only just names, is not what I would like. Yes, I will let the kindle touch at feedback. Just I thought I'd mention it here too.

CBRetriever says:
the Delete option is usually for Samples (never sent to your archives) and books/documents from other sources that were copied directly to your kindle

and if you delete books from just your Manage Your Kindle page, yes, they will still remain on your kindle and you have to manually remove them from your home page - if you're still seeing them in your archives, you have to connect (otherwise how on earth is your kindle going to know the books were removed?) and sync

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 24, 2012 5:29:22 AM PDT
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I tried connecting and syncing. However, the feedback team suggested restarting which is as follows:
To restart the device follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, select Settings.
2. Select Menu again, and select Restart.

This worked.

CBRetriever says:
that is usually the second step I recommend, if the first one fials

glad to know your problem is solved

If I delete a Wi-Fi hotspot how can I get it back ?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 25, 2012 12:58:06 PM PDT
You can't get it back. You have to connect to it again as if it were new.

Do you mean re-scan ?

CBRetriever says:
yes to find it again

I there a way to see which Wi-Fi spot you are connected to ? If you are in a location where there are several spots.

I think gimeabrak made reference (after the KK) that he wanted to know how to delete a book from his Kindle Touch, so he is posting in the correct place.

"I spent hours trying how to delete it from my touch."

Yep, I must have my eyes half closed when I read that the first time.

The kindle touch 5.1.0 firmware broke the experimental browser for me. Websites that worked perfectly fine for the 5.01 firmware now either barely work or do not work at all with the 5.1.0 firmware. Is there someway to rollback to the 5.01 firmware?

CBRetriever says:
sorry, but I have the Touch with 3G and I'm keeping mine a wifi virgin, so I don't know

as to the browser, I've yet to use that on any of my kindles, so again, sorry I can't help you there - I use my phone or computer if I need to access the internet

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 30, 2012 12:12:00 PM PDT
david - no, there's no way to go backwards with firmware versions. The Kindle won't install an older version, and even if it did it would just automatically update again when you're online.

My kindle randomly updated one day. I had no idea there was an update until it did. I just turned it on one day, and it was different. :)

okay, this is probably admission that I am the world's dumbest Kindle Touch user.

I have been on this forum before, and have asked questions, and they have been answered by participating members. Thank you for that.

Now, my new question is, how do you delete a book from the Kindle Touch, and how do you delete a book from the Archives of the Kindle Touch? I'm sure this question has been asked before, but if it has, I probably ignored it because I didn't any problems with such deletions. I do now.

I've had my Kindle since December of 2011, and am a Prime Member.

Thanks all,
