Every ad I have seen is for the Detroit area. No way I would participate at these places! I am tired of the Huggies also. Tried to sync and it did not work. None of these ads interest me at all. Mostly I ignore them.

DAMAZON! This morning it was an MLB Fathead poster. Then I turned my KK on then off...

PAMPERS!! Nooooo!

Indeed. That mom looks prettier after 3 months of sleepless nights than a lot of girls look on their wedding day.

ETC

Argh. I open my Kindle cover and what do I see... A Huggies ad.

I thought my diaper days were over and now I have that ad in my private space.

I foresee Pampers in my future.

Yeah, popcorn is back.
I wonder whether they actualy do pay attention to the forums. The ads are cycling much quicker.

Hi vjvi51. No, I'm probably not supposed to have a special offers Kindle as I live in NZ. I certainly can't get the special offers that are sometimes very tempting. However, if I change my address to a friend's Florida street address temporarily, I should be able to lose the ads for $30 if I want to. Especially if I 'spoof' the system by making it look like I'm actually located in the USA. I can do this with a great little Irish program called SecurityKISS Tunnel that gves me a US IP address. That system also lets me listen to Pandora, which otherwise is not available to me.

But generally I don't object to the ads - apart from the Hawaiian Huggiemonster - and if I can lose him, I won't bother with the $30 upgrade. Actually I haven't seen him for a couple of days, thoiugh I have seen other diapers ads since I took Family out of my preferences.

I must say I'm staggered at the response there's been to my original whinge about Huggies!

Did you miss seeing Emily? She stares at you like she's putting a curse on your very soul!

I love these discussions. We're not able to have the ad supported version here, so I love hearing about them :D

I'm in South Africa and I have the ads-supported version. My hubby has the regular screensavers and he says he would enjoy the variety of the sponsored ones. Even the nappy-clad baby ;-)

I particularly want to see this Hawaiian Huggiemonster John speaks of.

I have just emerged from 6 unbroken years of Huggies and Pampers, I could do without the Huggiemonster on my Kindle!

You would know this as a mom of a young'un and an older one... you hold your breath hoping that now you made it to the other side that grandchildren are not in your near-future... and the Huggies cycle starts again.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2012 5:28:43 AM PDT
For Grandchildren you get to hand them back when they need a change.

You can only hope it works out like that.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2012 5:35:09 AM PDT
I am a grandpa eleven times over (soon to be twelve). And it only works that way occasionally.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2012 6:34:33 AM PDT
Yeah, I don't anticipate grandchildren soon, but in any case, I'll have to work full-time long, long into their lives anyway, so it's not like I can be Granny's DayCare. If the girl child starts crankin'em out, the only time I might get stuck with a diaper is on Sunday afternoons when she brings the ankle-biters over for a visit.

Vanished says:
My fear is that my girl child will have one and then choose to stay at home with us. I suspect that won't happen seeing as she has been semi-adult witness to my 6 years of Huggie-Life. I'm sure that's put her off any thoughts of crankin'em out!

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2012 7:01:51 AM PDT
Hmmmn...well, that's always that possibility. Although let's hope not...

I recently switched my K3 away from the ads as they did not seem to offer products I need (especially the local stuff. It seemed locally to be spa and tanning ads. So I cut it off and am back to the authors - hello Emily D.

(*screams*) NOT EMILY!!! (*runs*)

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2012 7:25:36 AM PDT
Meh. I think Emily is less scary than a kid in diapers...
