Kelly, let me guess. Grandma proposed one of the cheapest fixes to your desktop PC... is that one of the fixes you used? Using an old Firefox browser of version 3.xx or something?

Avid Reader - if you check at Walmart you should be able to find some kitchen mats made out of a dense foam with various printed patterns. They cost about $10 and are a HUGE help when you're having to stand in the kitchen. Of course you can always buy the industrial mats, but those are much more expensive.

Nospin,

Sorry you are having muscle spasms as I know how painful they can be. I get lower back spasms when I'm on my feet too long, especially in the kitchen or doing gardening. Hope you feel better soon.

Kelly thanks for that link - I passed it along to another group I'm a part of, and as a matter of ease - those titles are free on Amazon, (as well as B&N for my friends that have a Nook) so it may be easier to keep them in your Kindle Library - but it was easy to locate from your link - so thank you!

Blessings to all, and Healing hands to those in need, may we find the strength to move another day!

This one is the only one I have clicked on today. Was a bit hesitant because of 13 5* reviews for a new author, but who knows it may be as good as they say and the price is right. :)

Prime of Life Contemporary Fiction
Ben used to be a cardiothoracic surgeon before he suddenly abandoned his career and became a janitor at a retirement facility. Now, other than dealing with minor problems such as an unhealthy obsession with prime numbers, an inept boss, and a feud between two cantankerous retirees, he lives a relatively stress-free life. There is even hope for romance when an attractive podiatrist shows an interest in him.
But it is not long before his past catches up with him and his carefully protected world begins to unravel...

just wanted to put that up because it looks like they've got a lot of their free titles up right now... include gone green I believe it's number Three in the GREEN SERIES, but I'm not sure.

I know I said thank you TO ALL WHO HELPED WITH THE COMPUTER SUGGESTIONS but it really has improved probably 50%, and in dinasaur world when you're broke that's a huge difference.... and I haven't even implemented everything yet, so thank you all again. I don't feel like smashing it and it's pretty tolerable again. Like it was after I reinstalled the operating system a few years ago. I'm going to continue to work on the suggestions you guys gave me, and continue to look online, I bought a little notebook 7 inch, I don't how I feel about it yet, I think I would like a tablet better, I'm going to checkout all the suggestions you guys made, and walmart price matches everything...

Thank you VERY MUCH ELIZABETH for my gift, you must tell me what I did to deserve that?

Ahhh Rahoo Tigaroo - you may be a "little black rain cloud" but without the rain we would all perish, and I know there is a great BIG rainbow hiding in there somewhere. The sun comes out often enough to make it bearable. We just have to remember that, when times are dark. :)

Hope the rain nourishes your soul and the rainbow peeks out to brighten your heart.

Sending rainbows your way...

I was visiting my neighbor yesterday, barely 40, two teen age girls and has MS. I have know her for years and seen her ups and downs and trying to figure out how to pay for meds. Her husband works but as you would know the meds you need are not inexpensive.

@OregonDreamer - living the life of the permanently disabled, we certainly become skilled at games we'd much rather not play: pain relief (by whatever means) or food; insurance premium or cable bill; spend energy doing "fun" or save energy over having to recover from "fun" ("good tired" vs. "bad tired")....always hoping for the best while planning for the worst with seemingly constantly dwindling resources of people, money, and materials.....or how many functional body parts does one need?

Finally checking in, everyone, Hi to Monday!!!(waving vigorously - have to practice for the parade)
Hope everybody gets relief from whatever is bothering you, A. Mitchell, I will virtually join you at the chiropractors at 4PM, that is my appt today, I ahve a great one that is too hard to get to for regular treatment, but I re-injured/sprained my hamstring, of course worse than the first time, and he does sports/joints/soft tissue treatment as well, so will talk to him while starting the stretches my physical therapist gave me the last time. He was going to be an engineer, and got into this when he got help for his own aches from a chiropractor....

Still grinning over the cast iron pan dance, you have to choreograph those steps and put them on youtube, it could be the next craze and land you on the Today show to demo.....

Breakthrough: The Adventures of Chase Manhattan (The Breakthrough Trilogy) SciFi
....A group of graduate students from Massachusetts Institute of Technology has stolen a breakthrough in opening and stabilizing Einstein-Rosen Bridges, commonly known as wormholes, that allows them to instantly transport people from one location to another. Their goal is to assassinate any powerful politician and executive controlling the world's banking system that would use this technology for their own greedy gain rather than the advancement of mankind.....

My thanks to all who responded to my DH's problem. We are off to the chiropractor at 4:15 and we are armed with more info than we had earlier. I'll let you all know how it went. Thanks again for the caring and advice. Still interested in any experiences you think would help:-).

NYSherry - I have used a chiropractor with great relief for pinched nerves. I agree that the good Dr's will provide you exercises for home. This last time instead of a chiropractor I went to see a myofascial massage therapist. AMAZING! She improved the pain in my neck and a pinched nerve in my back in 2 trips (and I have relief after the 1st visit). I would recommend it to anyone. This type of treatment does a stretch of the muscles and a deep pull/trigger point massage.

Coach D says:
Godsend 5: Blasphemy Out West by K Elliott. In the fifth book of the Godsend series, Echo and Brian work the cold-case murder of a gay man who was stabbed in the head 23 years ago. While Brian is busy running down leads, Echo encounters a Middle-Eastern man whom he suspects is a terrorist. Echo's Plan is simple: Kidnap Abul al Shaziz' wife, and if the man doesn't report her missing then he must be up to no good.

Brian has just learned that his main suspect in the cold-case murder claims to be a Christian man of God, so now it's time to confront the good Reverend Ambercrombie on the job. What is done in the dark must come to the light, but thousands will witness Brian's work. And by now Echo has shot Abul in the ass and has paralyzed the man from the neck down. An al Qaeda terror plot involving five bombs in California is discovered. Two deadly explosions occur, killing 24, but it could have been much worse. This pushes Brian and Echo to train three new Private Eyes, but first they must show them the ropes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

something black... by Steven Montano. The end of the world is here.

A mysterious commuter train crash leaves no survivors, but that's just the beginning. Within 24 hours, most of Washington's population has vanished, and chaos spreads like wildfire as murderous shadow creatures ruthlessly hunt down the scattered survivors.

Now a desperate band of refugees struggles to stay alive as they race across a deserted countryside in search of safety. But there are two among them who are not what they seem.

One is the cause of all of this madness. And another has been chosen to stop it.

Something evil is coming. Something sinister. Something black...

This 44K word novella is a stand-alone work of horror fiction.

WARNING: Very violent, and filled with apocalyptic images of death and foul language. Not for young readers.

Television Without Pity is my absolutely favourite entertainment website! I've been a fan of it since its inception many years ago. I knew the original designers. It's not the same since they sold the site to NBC a few years ago, but it's still great.
