My favorite replacement image viewer is called QuickPic. I don't think it's in the amazon appstore yet but you can download it from the developer's side and sideload it. (it's not in English but the download link is!).

What is the portrait setting in the Gallery app? I think a photo is supposed to go there, but cant figure out how to download one to it. I did get my picture gallery up and it looks good.

Go to settings, applications, select "all applications" from the dropdown list Scroll down until you find media storage it has the mini kindle Icon. Clear the cache and the one below it, sorry can't remember what it is called. That should work.

The pictures that iv downloaded onto my kindle fire from facenook are blurry. But my friend has a kindle fire and hers aren't blurry. Why is mine?

It's possible that you uploaded very small versions of the photos - maybe more thumbnail in size?

Can u save a pic on your homescreen.?

D. Wolfe says:
You can't. I found a crude work around but it did what i needed. I only had 10 pictures numbered 1 to 10 and the fire kept the order of 3 - 10, then 1 & 2. if you crop a picture and save it the date changes. I simply cropped all of them, this set new dates and the fire gave me the order I wanted. My crops by the way were to select the whole picture and save as a crop, i didnt really change any size. I cropped on laptop then moved file to fire. Time consuming if you have lots of pics.

How do you delete something out of the gallery on a kindle fire?

In reply to an earlier post on May 30, 2012 9:49:23 AM PDT
Hi, RinaRoo- Press and hold on the picture or video you wish to delete. A menu will appear at the bottom of the screen. The middle option is "Delete" with a picture of a wastebasket. Press on that to delete. Joanne

The Clear Cache button is not highlighted so I can't clear it. Same thing with the one below it.

But where is the Gallery Home Screen - have loaded some pics by emailing them to Fire but they sit there in docs - grrr

You can't transfer pictures from the Cloud to your Kindle Fire, you have to get the USB cable and conect your device to your computer.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 28, 2012 3:39:19 PM PDT
When you transfer pictures by USB put them in the picture folder for Gallery to acknowledge them. I don't see a way to transfer files on the Kindle from the email default documents folder to the picture folder.

I have downloaded pics from my email to my kindle but some of them are not showing up. Even when it says download complete and successful. Any idea where they are. So frustrating....

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 29, 2012 2:23:17 PM PDT
If all else fails you can get an app like es file manager and look in the download folder you'll see the the pics but they won't have the same name (they'll have numerical names.) Just move them to the picture folder and they'll show up in your gallery.
