@reader: Not sure if this will help - but I have over 80 web-sites and specific personal accounts for my isp account, on-line medical and dental plan info etc. etc. I have made a word document (you can give it an inconspicuous name that you'll remember). It lists the name of the account, my user or log-on name and my password. I have them listed alphabetically and then I run them off and paste them into a ittle 3"x5" memo book, such as you might find at a "dollar" store. Mine I just keep in with my remote controls and other little booklets in a container that's on my coffee table. Whenever I need to access them because I can't remember what my password is, it's right there. Anytime I make a change to my password, I update my word document and every so often I re-run them all and paste them into my little memo book. It would be small enough for you to hide in a safe place.
Sue

Ugh, so sorry for your trouble! Either write and store in a lock box, or if you have a (on my phone it has a "secret notes" section) that can't be accessed without the code. If that helps at all.

Hey Babel, hope you're having a good day. Don't be scared of the six hours that has a lot to do with the fact that the computer is a SLOW dinasore... couldn't figure the right way to spell that right now... gave up and did "HOOKED ON PHONIX" with it LOL... anyway that computer i used takes at least 15 minutes to find the wireless connection, and we have super good FIOS service... so I doubt it would take you that long. And I didn't use the get from device feature they offer... i downloaded from the kindle to a thumbdrive and used that thumbdrive to load to the thumbdrive i put the Calibre on... So the calibre and the books aren't on my computer at all... their on a stick lol. I'm super excited organizing and learning on shelfari, and i have a lot of anticipation on starting to play on the calibre... I just wish i would have done this from the beginning!

When I have a whole bunch to add, I open MYK, copy and paste the bunch of freebies (deleting any that I bought & paid for), then I quickly delete the extra words (the date and 'Actions'). Then I highlight the title of the first book, use ctrl-V to copy it, click "Insert Product Link," paste in the title, select Kindle Store, then click "Go." When the eBook shows up, I select it and insert it.

I very rarely have more than two books to choose from. If it's a title that I think is going to be very common, then I copy and paste both the title and author's name. I find this much easier and faster than finding the ASIN for each book, though for others, the ASIN method would work better.

When I only have a few to add and I remember the names of the books, I simply type the names into the search bar in the "Insert a product link" gadget, select Kindle Store, and then "go," and insert the link. This is much, much faster than hunting up the ASIN, since I can easily retain the title of a book, but can't remember a random string of numbers, and so would have to go to the product page to find them.

If I have the time, I will go to the product page & cut & paste the book description.

The only time I will use the ASIN is when it's difficult to find the particular edition of a book, but even then, it's not always foolproof, and I end up using the book's URL (which also gets turned into the book's name & link to it by Ammy).

Most of the time, though, just searching the Kindle Store (after clicking the "insert a product link") using the title will work, and I think it's easier for people new to inserting links.

That's what I've done, too. I don't listen to enough audio books to make a subscription worthwhile, so I just have an account and get the audible books on an ad hoc basis.

There are some special offers that you can only take advantage of if you're a subscriber, but so far there hasn't been one I've wanted enough to subscribe.

Will keep you in my prayers and keep sending positive vibes.

Dream of a Spring Night (Hollow Reed series)

I. J. Parker, author of the Sugawara Akitada series
In the tempestuous closing years of the twelfth century, the fourteen-year-old Oba Toshiko, daughter of a provincial warlord, enters the women's quarters of Emperor Go-Shirakawa, her body bartered for favor at court. Toshiko's talent as a singer of popular songs and her innocence excite the emperor's lust and the dangerous jealousy of Lady Sanjo. An accidental and forbidden meeting with the noble physician Yamada Sadahira tempts Toshiko's heart and tests her loyalty to her family. When her enemy strikes, she flees the palace to be with Sadahira.

Blood Orchids (Lei Crime, Book 1)

(was previously offered in March, lots of good reviews)
Hawaii is palm trees, black sand and blue water-but for policewoman Lei Texeira, there's a dark side to paradise. Lei has overcome a scarred past to make a life for herself as a cop in the sleepy Big Island town of Hilo. On a routine patrol she finds two murdered teenagers-one of whom she'd recently busted. With its echoes of her own past, the murdered girl's harsh life and tragic death affect Lei deeply. She becomes obsessed-even as the killer is drawn to Lei's intensity, feeding off her vulnerabilities and toying with her sanity. Despite her obsession with the case and fear that she's being stalked, Lei finds herself falling in love for the first time. Steaming volcanoes, black sand beaches and shrouded fern forests are the backdrop to Lei's quest for answers-and the stalker is closer than she can imagine, as threads of the past tangle in her future. Lei is determined to find the killer-but he knows where to find her first.

B J, no I mean there really is no K4PC2 or 3. Only the same app on each computer but Amazon lists them that way to distinguish them. You would have to determine which pc is 2 or 3, etc. It might be easier if you go to your apps & devices page on MYK and edit the names of the pcs to something easier to help distinguish each one. Like My desktop, my laptop, girl's Fire, etc.

Remember, the child will have access through the cloud on the Fire, to all of your books if the Fire is registered to your account.

Hope this is helpful and not too confusing.

hey, someone posted this over on the discount thread, thought you all might want to know...

I looked at my weekend circular that comes on Sat morning with ads/coupons. The Best Buy circular has the Kindle (the $79) for $39.95!
I drove like a bat outta h___ to Best Buy, and got my Christmas shopping done! Thank goodness I took the ad, as they told me it wasn't on sale.
If someone wants one, they might check their Best Buy store!

Reader,

Glad you feel up to posting. We miss your regular presence here, but hope you are getting the rest you need to recover. Will keep sending prayers and positive thoughts to you, D. Beck, Melissa and her DH and everyone else who is having problems of one kind or another.

What that nurse might be doing to people she is supposed to be taking care of, is really despicable. If it's true, hope she will get what she deserves.

Someone, I think Micki, mentioned a password app or program that you can keep all your passwords in and only have to remember one. It was in yesterday's thread after you posted re the nurse.

It's such a hassle, but you will feel better once you change all of them and your credit card accounts, etc, just in case.

Don't let yourself get stressed out. Maybe you could have a friend come over from now on when you have a visiting nurse there? It's so sad that we have to be wary of anyone who comes close to us these days, even caregivers.

Please keep posting when you feel up to it.

Liz
