Yes, some of them are, but soem of them I have bought! They do not need wifi for these particular games we think its an error with amazon so they are shipping me another one since these are under warranty, should be getting it soon. most of the games that i have downloaded are like the ones that are ad free so there shouldn't be this problem.

I have several apps for my grandchildren on my Kindle Fire. They like to play them while we are in the car etc. All of a sudden I keep getting " need to be connected to the internet" to play. What happened??? They used to work just fine with no connection needed.

wikipedia is not an encyclopedia as it is not researched or edited as such (as far as i know) although I know that many people use it as a regular encyclopedia.

Some apps need to phone home every once in a while, especially the free ad supported ones.

I just downloaded three free apps (sudoku, word search and mahjong) for an overseas flight I will
be taking. I am now worried they won't work on the plane. Lee I.

I am thinking about getting a Kindle Fire...can you run more than one app at a time (example: Pandora radio while reading or playing words with friends?) My little iPod won't let me do more than one thing at a time. Thanks.

Is there an app for Pinterest for Kindle Fire?

In reply to an earlier post on Aug 1, 2012 7:20:47 PM PDT
Not really.

This is exactly what I did. I found Text+ reviews said "oh its great....blab blab blab. But it will not notify you of messages .. you have to be logged in to rcv. messages .. you cannot go to another place in your kindle & stay connected" I got imo & turns ot that its another Social site that you link up with your other Social communications sites.
I want something like HeyWire which gives your device a ph# with which you send SMS messages to another cell phone. Why can't I find a kindle app that will give my device a ph#, allow direct input of cell # to contact, maintain connection on active wifi, & notify of new messages?!

I want to transfer my sony eReader books purchased from Amazon to my new Kindle Fire HD...can this be done, if so, how and can the Kindle Fire HD natively display the eBooks which I believe are in ePub format?

Posted on Sep 15, 2012 5:13:14 PM PDT
YepIt'sBecky says:
You would have to side load an epub reader.

Blue Topaz says:
Michael: Thanks and I read the article you linked. This will be my first andriod device (Kindle HD 7" 32gb coming 10/25). I am excited to load apps;; however, your article and others I've read, say that unless it's a Kindle app, it won't work unless you learn the technical maneuvers to tweak it .e, getting ES Explorer and side loading ....I don't feel adept at doing all that. So, is this true...unless it's a Kindle app, you can't download and expect it to work unless you take advance steps to make it work? I don't have an android phone either to switch it like the article suggests.

Any thoughts?
