My fire has a small camera on the front in the top left hand corner. I am curious as how to access it though. Any ideas how to open it.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 2, 2012 7:33:41 PM PST
@C. Reynolds: That is NOT a camera. It is a sensor that was originally used as part of the automatic setting of the screen brightness. It was deactivated in the first software update.

You can't access it since it's NOT A CAMERA.

I want a camera on my fire. It's obviously nothing like an ipad if it doesn't have a camera!

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 4, 2012 2:15:11 PM PST
Then return it and spend the extra money for the iPad. You didn't honestly think you were getting an iPad equivalent for $199 did you? Bwwwaaaahaaaahaaaa

A gamer? Do you mean a camera?

If you look at ANY of the pages in this thread, you'll find out what it is.

You don't know how to use it because it's not a camera.

So will they be coming out with a new kindle fire that has a camera and a mic? And if so when and about how much do you think it will cost??

But it is a camera! It's camera that the Gov. uses to keep an eye on you! That's why they don't allow you to use it!

We're all customers here. None of us can tell you what Amazon will or will not do in the future.

*headdesk headdesk headdesk*

For probably the one hundredth time in this thread, THAT IS NOT A CAMERA. It's a now non-functioning light sensor.
