My Kindle Fire was frozen and when I hit the power button nothing happened. I held down the power button for around 15 seconds and it reset and is working fine again.

Mine froze a little while ago, so I Googled it and found this thread where I read to hold the power button for 15 seconds. Worked like a charm! Mine was frozen at the unlock screen and would turn back off after 10 seconds. I kept holding the button for an additional 5 seconds. When I powered it back up, it went through the normal "boot" process and works fine now.

This happened when battery was low. I charged it for a little bit then held the power button for 15 seconds. It powered right back up

Mine has frozen twice since received as a christmas gift. The first time, I held the power button for several seconds...probably 15-20. The 2nd time, which was tonight, it didn't play out the same. I held the button for a while and it wouldn't unfreeze. Then I plugged it in for about 5 minutes, even though it was already fully charged. That didn't work. So, with it still plugged in, I held the power button and then it rebooted. Considering returning for a refund.

I have not had a freeze since I removed the Enhanced E-mail app weeks ago.

I have also not checked e-mail on the device since removing it so, at least in my case, I am going to blame some e-mail glitch, maybe tied to getting an e-mail and the device trying to do a notification.

Just a thought.

I was charging my Kindle Fire, listening to music, and browsing the bookstore and then it froze. I thought I might have overloaded the processor, but I held the power button down for several seconds, and then turned it back on. It's working fine now! :D

Mine is frozen right now. I was looking at one of my documents and then decided to google something, and now it's frozen on a google image search. The clock isn't updating or anything. the battery is almost dead...maybe that's why? I'm really irritated!!!
