Hi, I've had my Kindle Fire for a couple years now and I am beginning to have trouble with it. Most times it works great. However, recently I have begun having issues with it. My screen is not cracked and the Kindle itself has been well taken care of (aside from a period of time without use). My problem is that every now and then my Kindle screen will refuse to work. I have tried restarting it (holding the button for 30 seconds while disconnected from a charger). Unfortunately this does not work. The lock screen on my Kindle refuses to open, and when I try to shut it down, I am unable to press the button. I haven't seen any situation like this in forums. Please help me!

Sarida says:
It sounds pretty complicated. You may want to contact Customer Service. There is a "Help" button on the top of this screen and you can follow the links and contact them. You may want to use their phone service. They will call you back within seconds! Just have the device with you and they can walk you through some helps.

CS will probably lead you through a few troubleshooting exercises:

Rebooting.
Clearing history & cache.
Task killing.
And finally, if all else fails, they will suggest a factory reset.
