Anybody know how to copy and paste on Kindle Fire?

Long press on text you wish to copy/cut. You'll get orange "brackets" which you drag to include the text you're afte (this takes some dexterity, or a stylus). Then long press again and the text is sent to your clipboard (I don't know why/how but sometimes you get a pop up screen to select cut vs copy). Go to the location you want to paste to and long press again. You'll get a popup and can select paste.

Hey! I just figured it out after playing with it for an hour. But thank you for your help.

I finally figured out how to copy and paste. I never did get a window giving the option to copy, though. Just highlighted the text I needed, closed it and opened the comment box in Facebook. Did a long press which did give me the paste option.

One probably doesn't get the options to cut or copy, if the text is in a read-only file, like a web page. If the text CAN be deleted, you probably get the option to cut or copy, otherwise it would make sense to just do the copy as opposed to displaying only one available option.

Yes, but not natively. I use a third party screen capture program, like Snagit. Create a jpeg image, then run the image through a OCR program to have as editable text, I can copy paste where ever I want. I do the same thing on my Iphone, it works great.

I figured out how to copy and paste on facebook with the Kindle Fire HD. It doesn't work in the Facebook app. It only works on the full or mobile facebook site. Press and hold the text...then drag.

John C Orton says:
Yes, you can by simply highlighting the text and then copying to your clipboard. Then copying what is in the clipboard to a printable document such as Microsoft Word. Print from there.
I do not know why the Kindle Fire will not let you do this from an e-book but your PC app will.

Juanita, your question doesn't have anything to do with the topic of this discussion. Please start your own discussion rather than hijack someone else's with a totally unrelated question. Thanks.

I'm having trouble with copy and paste on my Kindle Fire HDX. I watched the YouTube video on How2Tech and it was very helpful except..... the Cut, Copy, Paste menu doesn't come up when I tap the highlighted text. It just turns off the highlight. I am trying to copy a "Select all" text. Any clues?

How do you copy and paste long text without the copy and paste option going away?
