I have one of the first kindle fires that were put out 2 years ago. I got it in February 2012 and currently I've been having problems with it freezing. Lately, when I press the Web tab it takes forever to say would you like to restore tabs...I can't even select yes or no because the message "browser not responding force close?". It lets me select yes on that but right now I can't use the web on my kindle fire! I have restarted it multiple times, removed things off even though it wasn't full thinking that was the problem but nothing has worked.

You may benefit from resetting your Silk browser:

* Go to your HOME page
* Gear Wheel (upper right) > More... > Applications
* Set upper drop-down filter menu to "All Applications"
* Swipe down to "Browser" (an Amazon symbol next to it)
* Under "Storage", "Clear Data"

Nothing will be lost or harmed by doing this, though you will lose your browser bookmarks and passwords.

You will need to reset some things in your Web Settings after doing this.

* Open the Web browser
* Click on the Menu icon (garage door icon) on the bottom bar
* Settings
* Re-enable Flash by setting it to "Always On" or "On Demand"
* Be sure JavaScript is still enabled
* Acceleration OFF

Click on this link and fill in the information.
You may have to sign in. I would use the PHONE or CHAT options.
Do *NOT* use e-Mail.
CALL ME under the PHONE tab is great if available.
They will call you within minutes.
