I am afraid that's one of limitations of K4PC (and all Kindle apps, actually).

Go to hte product page of the magazine in question, and see, near the top, "Available only on these devices" list.

BTW, some magazines (rather few of them) are available in Kindle format from other sources (e.g FictionWise) - they work on K4PC (and are DRM-free), but are formatted as regular books, not magazines.

You can get magazines from zinio dot com and read them on your computer.

Is this still the case? Seems like a massive oversight by Amazon.

The publisher decides what devices their magazines can be read on. Not Amazon.

Wow, not being able to use a computer to look at magazines you pay for? That is a huge oversight on Amazon's part that makes no sense! I guess I am cancelling my one magazine subscription then! Goodbye Amazon, hello Zinio!

So they like Nook better? Plenty of magazines available on that app.

This really needs to be updated. Google Play books is beating Amazon in the magazine department. You can view magazines just fine on the computer with Google Play books.

This is a customer discussion forum; if you want Amazon to see your suggestion, you need to email them directly.

I can read mag's on my android phone but not on my PC? How can such an oversight happen? You are all educated people... what am I missing here. Logic doesn't exist to explain this.

What, pray tell, is "K4PC"?

John, that is up to the publishers.

Mary Ellen, Kindle for PC.

Oddly enough EVERY PUBLISHER IN THE WORLD has apparently decided that they don't want people reading their magazines on a PC. Nothing to do with the fact that Amazon sells competing hardware.

re the comment above: "The publisher decides what devices their magazines can be read on. Not Amazon". This is simply NOT true. I contacted the publisher of my magazine that I cannot read on PC, and they said its totally out of their control and is decided entirely by amazon, the same way you cannot control what happens to a package after you mail it. This situation is simply ludicrous!

There is the Kindle cloud reader that you can use in any browser which works fine, but it does not have collections. All they need to do is create a universal cloud collection system and everything would be fine.

It's December 11 2014, and still one cannot read magazines or newspapers on the PC Kindle app? Insane. I emailed customer service about it, let's see what they say...

Well, this is annoying, I would hope the magazine is in color and my Reader is not... Guess I will also be cancelling.

OK - why can I read magazines on my android phone using the kindle reader, but not on my PC?! Looks like publishers want to use proprietary apps or Zinio rather than Kindle. Not going to be buying multiple copies of magazines for PC as well as android. Need a good Android emulator for PCs.

Is this still true, you cannot access your kindle magazines on your P.C.?

I just got a Surface Pro 3 and I am astounded that my magazines have vanished. This will be my portable computer and tablet. Amazing that they still do this. I may unsubscribe to most or all of them in this case. Bad move Amazon!
