A. Amadi says:
Other people have said:

Long click on the word
Drag the bars to cover text to be copied
Double click on the text ... it'll be copied

However, I am having a heck of a time getting it copied to the clipboard. When I "double click" on the text sometimes it copies to the clipboard but a lot of time it un-highlights everything and I have to start all over. Additionally dragging the bar down to the next line is not easy at all. I have to swipe my figure down several times for it to even go on to the next line.

Is anyone else having a tough time copying and pasting sections of an email to a new email? Any recommendations as far as figure gestures?

Just curious what you would copy and paste. It doesn't have a word processor like a computer. I for one do not know how to copy and paste on it.

For example, if I want to send a similar email to two different people but want to personalize the greeting, I would like to be able to copy the main part of the email to the second person. Therefore it would be really helpful if I could easily copy and paste portions of the first email onto the second one.

On my iPhone I can easily select, copy and paste portions of emails.

I agree and find copy and paste helpful. I've noticed the slider bar is extremely sensitive and a bit tricky to work with, I've had better luck when using my stylus. When selecting several lines of text, keep moving to the right more than down, that seems to help as well.

Thanks, what about getting the highlighted text copied to the clipboard? Any tips for that? A lot of times when I double tap it removes the highlighted text and I have to start all over.

Brent M. says:
just double tap on the beginning or end of text you want to highlight and then click on the "ribbon" to left/right of text and drag. once done dragging, take finger off and tap once on "ribbon" again and it should go to clipboard.

C. Warren says:
What Brent says about dragging worked for me only once I realised that my finger placement needed to be on the point of the word where the "ribbon" was pointing. Think of it as a pointer to a spot above the"ribbon" not as a tab or handle that can be selected and moved

You don't have to double click, at least not in the browser. A single click will do.

It can be useful for copying quotes like this. Or, when you want to copy and paste an URL into a reply. Etc.

So how do I paste?
Also, are there some strings you can't copy? I think I've copied URLs, but can't get the ribbon to show up trying to copy a string from a web form.

How about Pasting a Password from Lastpass to the "Silk" browser? Anyone figure that out yet?

"Just curious what you would copy and paste."

I would like to be able to copy/paste short selections (especially names) from text of books on my Kindle Touch, so that I can search for the same name in other books (I read mostly history, so names do come up in more than one book). Perhaps x-ray will replace any need for this, but the x-ray option hasn't been available on any of the books I have looked at so far.

Yes, I bet everyone is having problems with this core function. the interface is just not as smart as it needs to be, and fails distinguish the commands. I can never get the copy controls up in the email app. It really needs a copy/paste edit menu..

I would liked to know after you copy where do you go to past it. I have tried and some times I get a message that its already in there. This is completely new to me. Any help will be gratefully excerpted. Thanks in advance. Dick
