I have been sitting on hold with kindle support for several minutes now while the tech support tries to figure out how I can change the password on my email address on the fire. Can anyone on here help me? Support doesn't seem to know.

Where is "manage your kindle" I am having the same problem. BTW Kindle "email" support did not solve the issue either...yet. Thank you.

@Cheryl: The Manage Your Kindle link is at the bottom of this page.

You don't have access to the email address assigned to your Kindle Fire by Amazon, if that's what you mean. You can't change the password because the account belongs to Amazon. The only thing it can be used for is to deliver documents to your Fire.

Nospin, you can't change email passwords in MYK, only the address. Users don't have access to the password because we don't have access to the email accounts.

@Bruce: You can change the email address assigned to your Kindle on the MYK page of the website - I've just done it. Go to the MYK page and then click on Manage Your Devices, and then below the devices will be "Send personal documents to your Kindle using this e-mail address. Edit e-mail addresses on Personal Document Settings." Click on the link in the last 3 words of that sentence, and you'll be shown the Personal Documents screen. You can change the email address there.

Debbie says:
John, Yes, but the OP stated he wants to change the email password, not the email address. Since we users don't have a password for our kindle email address, the question perplexes me.

OP, did you mean the password to your personal email address (like yahoo, gmail, etc) your amazon password, or which password?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 3, 2012 10:37:25 PM PST
@Debbie: I was responding to the post by Bruce, who said that "You don't have access to the email address assigned to your Kindle Fire by Amazon, if that's what you mean." You do have that access.

And you are right - there is no password for that email address. I think that the OP believes that you can access the Kindle's email address to check for emails.

No, John, you misunderstood my post. Debbie had it right. The OP was asking to change a password. We can't do that because we DON'T have access to those email accounts. We can't use them for anything except sending email to our Kindle. The name wasn't the question, and access to the name isn't the same as access to the account. The OP can't change the password, as they were asking.

Does this give you what you're looking for? I was searching for how to change the password for the Gmail, Yahoo, and other e-mail accounts I have on my Fire, and ran across your question. This gave me what I was looking for: http://www.technipages.com/kindle-fire-how-to-change-stored-email-password.html

YES! Thank you Kevin. Jesus Christ why do they make it so complicated to change the stored password?

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 11, 2012 6:08:56 AM PST
That's pretty typical of any email client that isn't dedicated to a specific provider.

Good work guys AND gals! Nice to see others supporting us Kindlerererers.. Well, you know. I was thinking that you had to go all the way back to Amazon and change your main Amazon password. Glad I didn't speak up and confuse the issue.

Glad I have an answer to this question...thanks for the link, Kevin. Wouldn't have thought to look in the area regarding incoming server. I was intuitively looking for CHANGE PASSWORD! How hard is that?! Anyway, I ended up deleting the account and then re-adding with my new Yahoo! password. But I'll keep this knowledge in my back pocket for next time I have to update my personal email passwords

Same

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 10, 2012 11:28:49 AM PDT
Sorry cupcakepants, but a one-word posting is not going to get you an answer. You need to explain your problem, or why if it is the "same", the solution posted before isn't working for you.
