This looks to be a fun app and it is a very fun game. I just wish that the amazon would get it soon because it is one of my favorite games in the world.

I hope so as well

Everyone would benefit from having this app on the store. Amazon should look into it.

I honestly have no idea why they don't have it. There are plenty of videos of people running it on rooted Kindle Fire's so the machine itself definately can run the game. Look here:

That is a video of the game running just fine on it. I am not big on the whole "rooting" thing since I literally just got my Kindle Fire 4 days ago. So far I have used it primarily for gaming and it is actually great for that, it is just needs a better selection. Minecraft would definately add to that big time.

Hmm - looks like I'm going to have to root my Fire after all. I've managed to avoid it until now, but Amazon's limitations are becoming increasingly frustrating.

The kids are demanding Minecraft. Hard to believe that a game this popular isn't available on the Amazon App store. Lame.

You did write to the developer asking them to program the game to work on the Kindle Fire, right?

You do not have to root the fire, just sideload the apk file.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I've been looking, and I'm afraid that my conclusion may be right. When I look at the Minecraft - Pocket Edition, it seems to be looking like it's only compatible with my Fire HD 8.9. I'm hoping that someone will come and say, oh, no, it will ALSO work on your son's new regular Fire that you just got for X-mas. Please?

Or, if my deduction is correct, is anyone aware of another app that I've overlooked? :/

My son uses it on the 7" hd. Works just fine for him.

HJ Leonard says:
Yeah, but it doesn't look like it's going to work on the regular Fire. I'm not questioning the HD.

Carbonbased says:
I followed your link to the app site, and YES! it says it is compatible with both my 8.9 and my year-old Fire 7" (not HD.) That it doesn't say it for you is because your son's is not activated yet. While I could buy books for the 8.9 before it arrived, the green checkmarks on the apps didn't show up until it had phoned home.

Oh, thank you. I thought I had seen that it would work (before), but then freaked out because it wouldn't show my son's Fire on the purchase screen. Yes, his is still in the box.

I feel so much better. :)

does it work on just a regular kindle touch? if not does anyone know who would want to buy one? Im getting tired of this thing not being able to run apps and want to upgrade to a better one. HELP PLEASE!!!

New Girl says:
The kindle touch is just an eReader, it does not run apps. If you want to run apps you should purchase a tablet such as the Kindle Fire.

yes i kind of figured that. i have been wanting to get a kindle fire hd for a while and am just trying to sell my kindle touch first.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
You might want both. It is far better to read on an e-ink than a tablet. Also the battery life on a tablet is so much shorter.

I have heard that but its more of a money thing. It is like a pick one or the other thing and since I have to save up and buy it on my own...
