Kindle Trade-Up program!

The only thing about my kindle I don't like is the lack of "turning a page". I love my kindle keyboard (3) and it was given to me as a gift before there was any anouncements related to the kindle touch.

Would amazon consider a trade-in or trade-up program! Give us money toward the new kindles in exchange for our used ones? Mine is in excellenct condition and has one of the nice leather cases (which won't work with the new kindle of course) with a light.

If I could trade my Kindel Keyboard 3G in and cover a reasonable amount of the cost of a Kindle Touch or Kindle Touch 3G then I would probably do it.

Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

The program is already in place. You can trade in your used Kindle for a certain amount of credit, usually paid via gift card that you can use (if you would like) towards another Kindle.

Oh noes. Now he'll complain about how much they'll offer him for his used device.

They just extended their trade-in program to include Kindles:

Of course, since Amazon is buying a used unit from you and then that unit is going to be sold used, you won't get as much for it as you would if you sold it yourself. It's a very simple program, though: they pay the shipping, and give you a label to print. You just have to box it up and take it to UPS or the Post Office.

Be prepared to not get as much as you might like. You'd make more selling it yourself.

Check with Target. They gave me a $50 1-day only coupon to use toward a new model than my Kindle Keyboard. (I think this ends tomorrow)

If you want to read books, why bother?
