You're not telling Amazon anything here. We're just Kindlers.

I agree with the Grants and in no way want to dissuade you from your view nut , you can download Google Play apps without issue . 1Mobile is a good app to put on a Kindle to get the PlayStore apps .

**Meya** says:
To side load apps from other sources:

Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Settings, tap Applications. Enable Apps from Unknown Sources.

Then install ES File Explorer from the Amazon Android Store.

Launch Silk, navigate to www.1mobile.com, tap 1Mobile Market, then use the Download option on the Tablet choice.

Then go back to Home on the Fire, tap Apps, ES File Explorer. Select the Download folder, tap the 1MobileMarket_i.apk link, select Install.

1Mobile is now an App, under the Apps tab on the Fire. You can download many apps, such as the nook app from the 1Mobile App.

Amazon would have to pay Google a fee for Fire users to its app store. Why would they do that when they have their own app store? App developers need to focus on making apps available to Amazon's store.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
Okay, so you want Amazon to sell you a device at or near cost and then let Google get the money for the app sales?? Sounds logical to me.....

Artist says:
It doesn't matter what the cost of the device is. What matters is why should Amazon make it easy for people to buy apps from Google Play when they have their own app store?

Data: can you provide me a link to the source of the evidence for your statement that: "Amazon makes a ton on devices alone ." I'd like to be able to give it to others in the future.

Thanks in anticipation.

Yes, since Jeff Bezos just said on 60 Minutes last Sunday that they just break even on them. I tend to believe that Jeff is not a liar.

If you cannot reveal how you know, your statement has no credibility whatsoever.

Data: You can not reveal. Then why should we believe your statements instead of Jeff Bezos' words? What gives you more credibility than he has? What are your qualifications?

Many companies use "loss leaders" to get more customers in the hope of selling other things to them in the future. That is what Cyber Friday and Monday are all about.

What garbage you are writing.

No need to get defensive . My goodness . You believe what you wish . I posted to shed another side to this story . I never said I had credibility . Lol . Wow . What difference does it make anyway ? I posted what I know . I add to a thread all about people believing one side . No need to argue . Enjoy your Fires if you buy one or a few !
