android stuck on "checking for all items and syncing"

Then it say it's synced with the time and then it starts
all over and over and won't stop. The book I just bought on my tablet isfeatured on the phone, but when I tap on it nothing happens.
Then it goes away and keeps showing a message to "shop from over 7 million books......" with the syncing message popping up at the bottom.
I've turned on syncing at my Amazon account.
What's going on?? Thanks for any help.

I have noticed a similar problem on my Kindle for Android on my phone and tablet. I had added a few thousand titles to my library across time, but spent most time reading them through my Kindle for PC. I noticed that when I started my Kindle for PC, it was grabbing more and more memory while trying to synch. It ramped up to 1 GB of RAM being used and dramatically slowed the laptop to the point that I closed the program before it completed. The one night, I just walked away and forgot about it, not returning till the morning when I discovered it had completed and no longer took much memory or time at all for it to load.

When I bought my Android tablet, I had forwarded a ton of samples I was interested in to it before I ever tried to synch it, also with a few titles that I wanted to read right away. When I loaded Kindle for Android and set it to synch, all its resources were taken and the thing just sat there useless, having 1 GB of RAM total. Again, I powered it off and did what I needed for a few days, then left it to synch all night and eventually it finished.

It still takes a few minutes to load when I launch the Kindle app. Kindle support says that I should gradually remove all the titles that I am not going to be reading right away, which leaves the icon for the book, but removes the data file to the cloud, from which you may re-download it when you need to. Now the reason I bought an Android tablet with 64 GB of storage is so I could take *everything* with me all the time and *not* be dependent upon wifi connections. But Amazon seems not to have designed the app with this use in mind. I hope this helps.

LOL...I only wanted 1 book on my phone in the first place!!
I just turned off syncing to try to stop it.
I turned my phone off and back on.
It's still "checking and syncing"....sigh...

I can download a book onto my phone...
but...I can't read it. When I tap on it I get
"Invalid Item" please remove the item from your
device and got to Archived items to download it again.
I tried unregistering my phone and reregistering it, but
that didn't work.

some reason, I now have the book I want on my phone.
I am not going to turn on the automatic sync function because
I don't want to ruin a good thing.
I have no idea what I did to fix the problem.

I know its been years now but lindakathy did you ever find an official way to fix this? Its been driving me nuts. I have an LG tablet with the kindle app for android and all of a sudden can't read my books. It is in a loop trying to sync.

Go into your app settings and do a force stop. If it keeps up I would uninstall the app and then reinstall it.

You're quite welcome. This can happen with any app. If you notice your battery draining faster than normal click on the battery in the same settings and it will show which apps are using the most power. Just do a force stop on those as well.
