>>This is THE WORST ELECTRONIC DEVICE I HAVE EVER BOUGHT.

bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?

If you bought it after November 1, you have until January 31 to return it.

Bye-bye!

I hope your 30 days from day of purchase hasn't expired yet, so you can return it lickety-split.

eta... ooh I did not know the time period was extended for the Holidays, M. Francis...good to know

And the reason for ranting to other customers is????

If you wish to let Amazon know, use this -
kindle-feedback@amazon.com

Many customers are very satisfied with their Fires. Have you contacted Kindle support to see if there is anything wrong with your device???? Click on help at the top or bottom of any Amazon page and then the contact us button on the next page. I suggest using the phone for quickest response.

If you purchased the item from Amazon within the last 30 days, you can always return it - no questions asked

My cat sits on my lap when I'm reading with my Fire. He shows his disapproval of me paying more attention to the Fire than him by flicking his tail, often turning the page. Annoying sometimes... though, oddly, lately, he seems to flick his tail just when I need the page turned....

I'm surprised at this reaction. I have a Fire HD which I think is terrific. I'm on the 700th page of a 900 page book and have not once had the problem you mention. A search is easily done by touching a word, picking the MORE option and searching the entire book, Wikipedia or the entire web.

Have you read the manual which comes with the device?

The touch screen is hypersensitive. Breathe on it and it will leap to the next page, or the previous page, or hundreds of pages ahead.
*** Not normal behavior - you may have a hardware problem

Very hard to pick up where you left off. Often it goes dozens or hundreds of pages ahead.
*** See above

No Search function.
*** Are you blind? Try the magnifying glass icon. There are search functions everywhere on this thing.

LOL - that is funny!

Try youtube with a cat entertainment search. The sound is so good the cats look for the squirrels or whatever. One cat keeps looking behind the screen for the birds that flew out of camera ranfe.

LOL My cat, too, reacts to the "cat" videos. We're both easily entertained. :)

Our cat used to do that, too, on TV nature shows. Paid no attention to any other kind of program

If you really, really can breathe on it to turn a page, you should return or exchange it.

The Fire is the easiest tablet to use on the market. My guess is you are using it without a case and without a stylus. A case will help in not having your fingers touch the edge of the screen and having the pages move ahead as you describe through inadvertently touching the screen

So get a case and stylus and try again or give up on tablets and return it.

There is plenty of online help if you would calm down and look

My dog likes tv nature shows. One day while trying to find where the animals went he stepped on the power strip and turned everything off.

Actually, I think breathing on it to change pages would be handy. The ultimate couch potato device. You don't have to lift a finger to use it.

But depending how your lung capacity it would have to be close to your face. My eyes are too old to read up close. I would say something about my lungs being old but I can NOT figure out a way to word it without using the word "blowing".
