I wonder whether Kindle Fire HD Tablet could be used abroad, such as China, that is, will I be able to access books and videos there?

In general, books, magazines and apps yes, videos no (not from Amazon, anyway). There is a Chinese Amazon store, too.

Thanks a lot, also do you know whether the Kindle Fire HD Tablet bought here in US can also access Chinese books, or only tablet bought in Chinese amazon store can do that. Thanks again.

The Artist says:
A Fire purchased in the U.S. can access books from amazon.ch *IF* that is your home country. If you're just visiting there, the answer is no. You only have access to books that are available in your home county regardless of where you are physically.

It's slightly more complicated than what The Artist said, but the point is that it does not matter where the device is bought but to which Amazon site it is registered. Most regional sites allow only local residents to register, and users from most of the world can register to http://amazon.com. While amazon.com has few books in Chinese, the choice would be much wider (about 50,000 titles) on amazon.cn (amazon.ch is Swiss site), provided you can set your country of residence to China.

Thanks a lot, so there is no way I can access both English books and Chinese books at the same time using the same tablet, right?

A. Dietz says:
You can't be registered to amazon.com and amazon.cn at the same time. If you deregister a Kindle Fire to change registrations, all of the content on the device is deleted, so you can't download from one site and then switch to the other site and retain your content. You could have two devices, a Kindle Fire and an inexpensive basic Kindle, with one registered to each site.
