I don't know why but I just can't figure out how to turn it off. Even when I exit it it is still playing in the background. I am sure I am missing something obvious. Thanks.

You have to go into the menu from within Pandora and select to quit.

There's no 'Quit', or Exit, or anything else in the menu that remotely says, "Turn this dang thing off!"

With Pandora open, look at the upper right corner. You'll see 3 vertical dots. Tap that, then QUIT.

I'm also trying to quit Pandora on my iphone 4 and there is no quit button. I've found the menu, but "quit" is not an option.

I remember it being there in September, but not since then. Perhaps they removed it in an update. I am wondering if they are making it harder to quit so people use more hours and end up having to pay for the upgrade to continue listening. Or it could be that this profit driven world has made me too suspicious!

I finally found it. When the four "buttons" of Stations, Feed, Profile, Settings are visible across the top, use your Android button at the bottom left of your phone (the square with magnifying glass on it, beside the Home button), and click that. Sort by date, Sort by name, and QUIT are there.

THANK YOU!!! It had been driving me crazy to turn off the volume and hit the sleep timer and then waste 15 minutes of songs being played to shut it down on my Samsung Android phone!!!

On the kindle fire hdx you have to tap the three dots on the top right of the screen...select settings
and on the very bottom of that screen there is a 'quit' box..click on that and you are finished.

For peace of mind open settings and scroll to the bottom and hit quit

I found and tried the icon that has 3 bars/lines and also Settings and I do not have a "quit" option. I only have a "sign out" option. I'm on an iPhone 4. Maybe some people have a quit option if they have a different type of phone.

I found the quit button and it still didn't turn off. Then I unplugged the chromecast dongle's power and Pandora was still plying! Finally unplugged the dongle and it quit.
