I just got my kindle and I'm really about ready to send it back. When I first registered it, it down loaded 35 books I had ready to download. I checked out a couple of books and used the menu key to change font and see what else I could do. I created one collection and just did some basic exploring. The next book I try to open said it couldn't open it and to remove it and redownload from amazon. ALL the books I tried following had same message. I went through the helps and tried the "home" "menu" key -- well when I press the menu key -- nothing comes up -- I can't get the menu to come up at all. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a broken kindle. Also my "manage Kindle" has two kindles set up??!! I only have one, now they have it set up for my kindle and my kindle 2 -- the help is no help with this issue. Anyone know where I can get real help?

Ashton, for someone to take a shot at helping you they would need to know which kindle you have.

Start by pressing the Home button at the bottom in the middle - below the display.

CBRetriever says:
you had your Touch unplugged and held the power on for 30 seconds for the reboot?

if that didn't work, I suggest using the orange Contact Us button on the right and after you make the appropriate menu selections (don't worry if none of them are exactly your problem, just pick something) select eithe Chat or Call Me / Us

I have a Kindle Touch the menu button will not work on the screen or the front of the kindle cannot get anywhere except the screen that comes up when it is turned on. Is there a way to fix this?

Mike says:
As already stated above, try rebooting by holding the power button for 30 seconds. If that doesn't work go to Kindle customer support, starting with the help link at the center top of this page.

I got my button to work . Not sure what steps did it.
1. Took needle and went around edges of each bar and under.
2.took needle and went around and each port and button on bottom.
3. Quickly kept hitting power button on,off continuously, not holding it.Until it came on.Once it came on I got the normal screen. Not the one I was stuck on.
