I just got my daughter a Kindle Fire HD. Right now we are both on the same account but I want to know if I can NOT share my books with her. Some of the reading is not appropriate for her age. Is there anyway I can do this or do I just need to get her her own account?

There are parental controls on the Fire that you can set to keep her from downloading anything.

All the Kindles on the same account will be able to see all the books on that account.

You can get her a seperate account but keep in mind if you are a Prime member then you would have to purchase Prime on her account as well to get access to the free Prime videos and the 1 book a month. You cannot share those with another account.

Depending on how old she is, you can consider setting up a FreeTime profile for her. This allows her to see only the specific items you put insider her Freetime profile. It takes a parent password to exit the profile, and then the Kindle simply functions as usual. However, be aware that while in Freetime, she will not be able to use the web browser at all.

Some, but not most, books can be loaned, ONE TIME, for a 14-day period. Details can be found here -

You can always swap Kindles. My friend and I do that. Actually, we each have an extra Kindle that we use for sharing books.
