I just downloaded and tested the new version on my iPad. The synchronization of Collections works exactly like it does on a dedicated Kindle. It took me no time at all (literally) to get my eBooks organized into their rightful place.

Will Collections be available for the Kindle App too?

Which Kindle app do you mean, Marie? This thread *is* about a Kindle app - the iOS app (for iPads, iPhones, etc.). The app for Windows 7 also has Collections.

HURRAY HURRAY HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am dancing on the clouds today.....................

Finally collections, and the least buggy app to date I think!! Must have new programmers or at least someone to not only listened to us but knows how to make an app that isn't buggy.

A request, can you do the same for the android app and make it run smoother and have collections?????

Perhaps the Kindle Fires will get collections one of these days? Owell, I do appreciate the addition of collections for my phone, thanks Amazon.

I hope so to. It's ridiculous apple devices get it before, their own kindle fires.

Oddly, I just went to the Appstore on my iPhone, and the entry for the Kindle app displayed the Update button. So I updated, and now the version of the Kindle app on my iPhone is 3.9.2. I'm absolutely certain the update from earlier in the day took me to version 4, I saw my collections and what I considered to be interface improvements.

I really *liked version 4, during the brief time I had it. Does anyone know if there was some kind of widespread issue with it that I didn't run into?

eta: I even uninstalled the app, and redownloaded it, since the description in the Appstore still says the version there is 4. But reinstalling it, still produces version 3.9.2.

Try to update it again, maybe it hiccuped before it settled in! There was an update yesterday and then again this morning so it is possible your phone got confused. I have not had the problem with my ipads but I have not done my phone yet so am just guessing here.

I think it's a new feature in the App Store that I read about this morning. It's supposed to give you the latest version compatible with the version of iOS you are using, and there seems to be a problem with that. Three apps, including Kindle, that I have not updated and that I know to be compatible with iOS 6 are no longer listed as updates in my App Store.

I haven't updated to iOS 7 yet.

It is a problem with the app store. If you go to Top Charts, Free, #7, you will find version 4 of the Kindle app.

I'm going to update my iPad Mini now to iOS 7 and see what happens in the app store then.

Thanks, I haven't updated to iOS7 yet, either, but I think I'll give it a try this evening. Maybe I will be able get version 4 of the Kindle app (again!) after I update.

Nope, can't update to iOS 7. Apple seems to have some serious problems right now.

I'll try the Kindle version 4 from the top charts.

I was able to down load Version 4.0 of Kindle app to my iOS 6 from the Top Charts in the App Store, and it seems to work. I like the new controls, especially the annotations.

You need to download all the app updates first before you update to iOS7. Even Apple always says to update your apps first. Saves a whole lot of headaches and gray hairs! I downloaded all app updates and on the kindle one I opened it and moved around in it first, then I downloaded the ios7. I have had no problems.

iOS6 made itself available on the devices themselves and I didn't have to download it. I assume that iOS7 will do the same eventually. I have 4 iThings and they all got the iOS6 update at different times. But I have been updating apps on all of them, a huge number in the past few days. LOVE the new Kindle app.

Very strange syncing going on. The iOS app has dredged up and revived collections from a KK that I deregistered and sold long ago but the collections from my current PW are incomplete.

Loving the new Kindle update on iPad. I can't figure out how to add to or create new collections, though. The ones that show up seem to be from a Kindle Keyboard I rarely use any more. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Okie doke, updating my iPhone to iOS 7 did allow me to reinstall version 4 of the Kindle app. Pretty strange that it updated to version 4 earlier today when I was still using iOS 6, but then backdated to an earlier version. But all is well that ends well, I guess.
