I have the original Kindle Fire. The power button no longer works. At all. I have tried holding it down to reset but it will not reset. The light no longer comes on when it's charging. Pressing the button does nothing, it will not turn the screen on or off.
Basically, if I call Amazon, will they replace it even though its pretty old? Everything else is fine except for the power button.

You can always call them and see what they say but I highly doubt they will replace it free of charge since it's long past it's warranty expiration date.

I had a very positive customer service experience 2 months out of warranty. Definitely ask, you have nothing to lose. I emailed asking about repair options and I was very pleasantly surprised.

You mean the original original, as in 1st gen? That's like 3 years old now. It's very doubtful that they'll replace it, but they will almost certainly offer you a discount on a new version.
