I was wondering if i were to purchase a micro usb to usb adapter for my kindle fire hd if a usb mouse or a wireless usb mouse would work for it?
Has anyone tried to do this in the past?

No. The micro usb is only for charging or for a host to transfer data to or from. The Fire can't act as a host for anything plugged into the USB port.

thank you. I might send a message to kindle feedback. Maybe if enough people send messages they will realize that being able to use a wireless or bluetooth mouse would be a nice feature.

joseph - Since you have a Fire HD, you should be able to use a Bluetooth mouse with it.

Just to reiterate precisely, an external plug-in USB Bluetooth Receiver to synchronize with a Bluetooth mouse is not needed since the Kindle Fire HD already has a built-in Bluetooth receiver.

I have been following the forum posts about Bluetooth keyboard and mouse combos and all of them say that they're having issues with connecting both at the same time. And no one is having luck with even connecting the Bluetooth mouse by itself. My concern is with connecting a USB mouse to the kindle, not Bluetooth.

I think the confusion is probably stemming from your comment: "Maybe if enough people send messages they will realize that being able to use a wireless or bluetooth mouse would be a nice feature."

For the record, I can connect my bluetooth mouse, but not at the same time as my bluetooth keyboard. It seems to only be capable of making one bluetooth connection at a time.

That said, the same story holds for the lack of host mode for the USB port. There are few Android based tablets which allow for USB host mode for external devices, and as Amazon used a forked version of Android, it is unlikely we will see that functionality available on Fire devices any time in the near future.

Thank you. I am sorry for the confusion. I know a rooted kindle with a custom os on it has the capability. but I don't wish to do that.
