´¯`°¤.¸.¤.¸.¤°´¯`°¤.¸.¤.¸.¤°´¯` An Irish Story ´¯`°¤.¸.¤.¸.¤°´¯`°¤.¸.¤.¸.¤°´¯`

As only the Irish can tell a story! Paddy had long heard the stories of an amazing family tradition.

It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able to walk on water on their 18th birthday. On that special day, they'd each walked across the lake to the pub on the far side for their first legal drink.

So when Paddy's 18th birthday came around, he and his pal Mick, took a boat out to the middle of the lake. Paddy stepped out of the boat and nearly drowned! Mick just barely managed to pull him to safety.

Furious and confused, Paddy went to see his grandmother. 'Grandma,' he asked, "Tis me 18th birthday, so why can't I walk across the lake like me father, his father and his father before him?"

Granny looked deeply into Paddy's, troubled blue eyes and said, "Because ye father, ye grandfather and ye great-grandfather were all born in December, when the lake is frozen, and ye were born in August!!!

* Thanks to Elizabeth for sending this to me. ❤

Thank you redandwhite. I wish the day could have started on a better note. :(

I'm glad you enjoyed the Irish Story. Have a great day at work red.

Good evening all :) Thank you for the start, Wendy. Happy Birthday to Happy Camper - it seems like a while since we've been able to celebrate a birthday, or else I've been bad and have missed some.
Sandy, always appreciate your starts too, and everyone else's starts. I don't want anyone to feel locked into a pattern, just know that we are all here to help each other out.
I only have the letters S and T on my (OCD) quest to repopulate my eReaderIQ watch list. Was hoping I would be done last Saturday, but I was too optimistic. (Plus I've obviously been greedy in starting collecting so many serial books...)
Now I get to read for a bit until I fall asleep. See you all in the morning.

My pleasure Donna. Have a good nights sleep. ❤

I am impressed that you have got so far, well done, have you noticed that eReaderIQ has made some new changes to the watch list - try to click "Do you want to organize your Watch List? " I think Christian may have been thinking of you when he made those changes LOL
Glad to hear that you have time to read - see you later

I so like that we can start afresh each day.
Love the new birthday art-work, you are so clever.
I notice that we have not seen HappyCamper for some time so hope we entice her out on her doubly special day, I notice that she also has no bio :(

ETA
I have a little confession to make, I am shirking work ! I am going to meet up with a retired colleague for lunch and a film, haven't seen her in ages, she is Norwegian lives in CPN and I met her when I got my first job in CPN, and she was the first person to ever invite me into her home in DK. Later, after I had stayed home with the kids for a few years and was very penniless, she had changed jobs and she managed to get me employed there too, it is where I still am. So she is a bit special to me since I have worked with her all my working years in DK and she is godmother to my Son. The sun is shining so it can only be good today. :-)

I glad you like the new birthday art redandwhite. I just found it a couple of days ago and just had to do a little bit of tinkering to make it work.

HappyCamper most often posts in the Kindle Kitchen. I hope she is lurking today and sees her wishes. I guess getting married on your birthday is a good way for your husband to never forget either. LOL

Murder on The Mind (A Jeff Resnick Mystery) by L.L. Bartlett (1,000 customer reviews - 4,3 Stars)

Jeff Resnick hardly knew his well-heeled half-brother. But after suffering a fractured skull in a vicious mugging, he reluctantly accepts the fact that he has a long and brutal recovery to face-and his closest of kin can provide him with the time and place to do it.

Now, Jeff is haunted by unexplained visions of a heinous crime-a banker, stalked, killed, and eviscerated like a ten-point buck. When Matt Sumner's murder is discovered, a still-recovering Jeff realizes this was what he had seen. Jeff must not only convince himself of his new-found psychic ability, but also his skeptical brother Richard Alpert. Since Sumner was Richard's banker, both brothers have a stake in finding out what happened. With Richard's reluctant help, Jeff's investigation leads him to Sumner's belligerent family and hard-nosed business associates, none of whom want him snooping around.

When Jeff discovers a second victim, he knows he must relentlessly chase his quarry even if it means risking his brother's life.

My mom and dad shared birthdays. Their anniversary is the next day... But dad has been gone for a very long time..

redandwhite I almost missed the ETA on your post. Good for you for taking a personal day to join your friend for lunch and a movie. I hope you have a wonderful time today.

Thank you for trying to very subtly making me feel better. I appreciate your caring and thoughtfulness. ❤

How unusual that your parents shared the same birthday Sandy. What are the odds? My dad has been gone for a long time too, 17 years now, but it seems like yesterday that he was still here. I miss him. How long since your dad passed?

Wow that is incredible, must be very unusual I would think.
Both of my parents are gone, my mother only just got to see me get married, and my father some years later - recently my sister said to me "you do realise that we are orphans now" that made me laugh. Thank goodness for memories

From my wish list.....
Murderson (The 2nd Edmonton Police Station Thriller)
London and the South West of England are the hunting ground of a serial killer. The brutal killer, nicknamed The Clock, hunts young men in their thirties, kills them and turns their bodies into macabre clock faces at each crime scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Webb, a tired middle-aged policeman with a failed relationship still haunting him, investigates the series of murders with the help of Dr. Kirill Fedorov, a man who believes he can spot potential serial killer behaviour in children and cure them. Webb also persuades the now fully-grown
Luke Wind, the only British boy that Dr. Fedorov cured and treated like a son,
to help him find the killer.

Fedorov convinces Luke that he should still be able to understand a serial killer's mind, but when Luke looks into himself he begins to doubt that he has been cured after all, especially when the killings begin to look personal.

They were going to get married on their birthday, but they had gone to Vegas and they were busy and had to wait in line... The wedding was like at 1:30am.

Oooh dear reading the above 5 or 6 posts without seeing which posts they refer to is ... to say the least ... rather misleading, I have meant no disrespect in any of my posts but have obviously been posting whilst another has posted, sorry.
