You will need a wifi capable printer and you will need an app from the maker of that printer.

Ok, thanks for the help. Just so happens my printer is compatible and Brother has the app.

I installed eprint (hp app) but it appears I have to go thru the app to print a web page instead of using pre-installed silk browser. Is there a way to print directly from browser? Kind of a nuisance to have to go to app each time there is a page I want to print instead of being able to do it directly in silk.

Because you need a wi-fi capable printer and an app from the maker of that printer.

I installed HP ePrint app to my Kindle Fire HD 7" and I went to HP and signed on to HP connected but I cannot print from my Kindle. Can someone help guide me to accomplish this. I tried to get help from Amazon but no luck. They are telling me I can't do it.

Hi Eileen. I think amazon are talking out of their rear echelon! I was in the exact same situ. Sounds like you've done everything right. As long as your network adress is correct on the printer and it tallies with the ip adress on your setup it should work?

This is one of the most absurd 'features' of the Kindle. Integrated printing is a nightmare on any computer platform. Because Postscript and now PDF have been long running standards for formatted document printing or viewing, there should be no excuse for not having a 'print to PDF" and then "send PDF to printer" engine in every device. The printer manufactures are more interested in creating new printers to see more printers and sell ink cartridges to "make a profit" than they are with actually solving the printing problem, once and for all.

Apple's printing services on iOS are universally workable. They understand that it needs to be transparent to the user. The whole graphical programming environment includes printing from the core, and their work with HP to establish an iPrint standard, takes care of the issue. If you have an OS-x computer, you can get software to install there, that will provide a printing "proxy" service for any printer accessible to that Mac.

The reduced costs of Kindle and Android happen not because Apple is charging too much, but rather because Android vendors, in general, and Amazon in particular, are not doing as much work to actually create a viable device. Instead, they are creating profits from the public's ignorance of what's missing from their platforms. People are buying the cheap stuff, finding these holes in features and realizing they've made a mistake.

At the Apple store, you have time to walk back in the door and return your device when it doesn't meet your needs.

Of course they are.

ePrint seemed complicated to me, so I got HP Print Plugin instead, and it should work well my my wifi printer. Haven't tested it yet, but maybe you could try it and let everyone know if it works for you.

You're replying to a two year old post. I'm sure he's figured it out by now.
