Purchased Books not delivered to my new Kindle

Got a new Kindle for Xmas and everything worked fine at first. However two weeks ago it stopped delivering books I purchased to it directly. A week ago I spent over an hour with level one and level two support trying to figure it out. Seems books purchase from my computer for kindle delivery go to my archive but not my kindle. To get them to my kindle I have to look in the kindle archive from the kindle, select the book I want, then I can finally download it to the kindle, doing this without a keyboard is sorta a pain in the butt. Support level two person feels the problem is on Amazon's system not in the Kindle so it was kicked up to the next support level a week ago, so far nothing else has been done to correct my problem.

Has anyone seen anything like this, or can anyone offer any helpful suggestions.

Hi, Tommyy! If you have more than one Kindle device and/or Kindle for PC etc, you have to choose which "one" device you want the Kindle purchase book to be delivered from the drop down menu on the Kindle book order page.

For me, the easiest way to have a particular Kindle device set as the "default send to" device is to give your newest Kindle a name that begins with a letter closer to the letter "A".

For example, if your new device's name is Tommyy's Kindle, change that name to something beginning with a letter anywhere from "A" to "S" , such as "A Tommyy's Kindle". In other words, the device name which has the starting letter closest to "A" will show up first on the default "send to" on each Kindle book purchase page.

Hope this makes sense and good luck in having your e-books sent to your new Kindle.

Edited to add: if the above does not work for you, try doing a hard reset on the Kindle that is having this problem.

LynxFM, thanx for the idea. I do have the Kindle and kindle for PC, and I think the problem may have started after I added Kindle for PC, but I always select the Kindle for the download (not kindle for pc)yet it never gets sent to the kindle anymore.

Hmmmmmm, just thinking out loud and the next thing I would try is to de-register directly within the Kindle for PC .Do not uninstall K4PC, just de-register from the K4PC temporarily by clicking within the app on Tools--Options--Registration--then, in the window that pops up click on "De-register". Next, close the K4PC program, then go and pick up a freebie Kindle book to send to your actual Kindle.

If the book is then successfully sent to your actual Kindle, I would then re-register your K4PC program giving it a name such as "Zen Kindle 4PC). Then leaving the K4PC program open, download another freebie Kindle book to be sent to your regular Kindle. If the freebie is sent to your K4PC instead of your Kindle........yep, yep, yep it's a problem that the Amazon techs would need to fix.

For the life of me I can't see how the actual kindle caused the problem, perhaps the MAC address in their delivery system got screwed up, but who cares; they replaced it and now everything works again, I am a happy camper. Tom talk to amazon support, hopefully they will replace it and fix your problems as well.

Sandy, there is a big difference from trying to purchase a book and trying to send the book to your Kindle via USB. To send the book that you have already purchased to your Kindle via USB, you must be on Manage Your Kindle page. Click on the action button (all the way to the right) for the correct book. One of the action options is download and transfer via USB.

The Cloud reader is part of your browser. I've never used it so I'll let someone else address your issues there. It would help if you would respond with which browser you are using.

The archives are on the homescreen of e-ink Kindles.

I have the same problem. It sends the book to my archived items, but I can't select it because it is grey instead of black. It does send it to my iPhone, but not my Kindle even when I ask it to send it to my Kindle. I have tried restarting, reregistering, sync & check for new items. Nothing works.

Recently I purchased a new Mac book and a new router. The other day I ordered a new book for my Kindle but it has not appeared on my Kindle. Amazon indicates it has been sent, but it doesn't appear. Solutions?

2. On the left side of the screen select "manage your device". You will see all of your Kindle devices on this screen.

3. Next to the Kindle whose name you want to change, click on "edit". A box pops up where you can change the name of that Kindle. Then click on "update" and Kindle's name will be changed.

You can rename your devices so that the iPhone comes after your other device.

What Kindle do you have? Have you tried the "sync and check for new items" option on the menu (or just "Sync" from the settings if it's a Kindle Fire? Have you tried a hard reset? Is your wifi connecting properly?
