Hi everyone! I brought some coffee, beer, and popcorn... oh, and my sister.... and her husband... and her kids.... and their two cats. Happy post-apocalypse!

I brought a portable generator and an exercise bike. Anyone know how to hook them up to each other???

EDIT: Looks like Amazon decided to delete my first post 3 months after I posted it? Weird. It didn't violate any rules. Anyway, all it said was that this is the continuation of the old thread. It's a social club, and not meant to be promotional, although different books will come up from time to time. Stop in and introduce yourself! :)

Hi Noah -- How about throwing some line breaks in those URLs, so we don't have to scroll sideways to read this thread?

My day's been fine. My lower back is bothering me a little.

Not reading on a computer, I guess? I'll give it a try.

Hope your back feels better.

Why don't we tie the cords in a knot AND THEN cover the knot with duct tape? I bet that'll do it!

You ask!

But to be clear - this thread is NOT meant to be just about me and my work. We can talk about it from time to time, but that's not the point of the thread.....

My hubby's pretty handy. Ooops, I forgot to mention that I brought him too, and my son, and our cat. I sure hope this is one of those infinitely expandable shelters - kind of like a Mary Poppins bag or Bugs Bunny pocket.

Nope! It's a little one. The more people you bring, the less elbow room....

Ok, that's it. No elbows people. Leave them behind. Knees too!

Melinda, you can call me whatever you like as long as you don't step on me in this tiny shelter.... and it wouldn't hurt if you brought chocolate! :*) (I think I've been drinking a little too much of that beer. My nose is red.)

QUESTION:

"If you had 3 days warning and a safe place to hide: What would you take with you? Who would you save? Who would you leave behind?"

Hi Mary! Welcome to the shelter! I'll go and download the sample for hunger games.

I recently finished The End of Marking Time. I wrote a review. I frankly, had mixed feelings. The writer's voice was really enjoyable. I enjoyed the kind of Orwellian story he was trying to tell, but there was really an impossibly long list of things that didn't make sense to me. It's a book worth reading, but if you're thinking about it, don't read my review until afterwards.

I think I may go and see Sucker Punch in a little while.
