I bought the book Cooked by Michael Pollan within a day or 2 of it being released for $14.99. I now see it for $9.99.

Is this usual? feeling a bit miffed as I haven't even started to read it!

if you bought it within the last 7 days, return it for a refund and repurchase it

it happens a lot - seems like almost everytime I buy something it goes on sale afterwards

Vagabond, I find eReaderIQ site very useful - when I find a book I fancy but for a price I am less fond of, I just put it on watchlist there and wait for the price to drop.

I try to not look at prices of thing I've purchased after the fact. Can't be disappointed that way! :)

Book prices are usually highest when they are first released and then go down after. That is why I usually never buy a book at release.

There was a sub-division built near where I lived about 20 years ago. They put up the 3 models, and started selling them. They finished the phase with several homes unsold. THOSE 3 or 4 houses eventually were reduced to sell. The owners who had bought the same models 16 months prior sued the development company for the difference in price, saying it wasn't fair.

They lost.

That is what I think is funny. People buy things for a stated price so obviously they thought it was worth that price when they bought it. Then the price goes down and they start screaming ripoff and want money back. Too funny.
