How do you know it doesn't go to sleep? As soon as you open it, it would come out of sleep mode.

If you're sure that it doesn't go into sleep mode. perhaps you have the PW in upside down.

You will need to reboot the Kindle. Hold the power button on for 30 seconds and give it a couple of minutes. That should fix it.

All that information would have been great if you had included it as part of your original post. The more information you supply, the better the responses you will get.

Return the Kindle. The IPad is much more suitable for the developmentally and socially disadvantaged.

M. you need to click on "reply to this post" so people know who you're directing your comments to. If your comments were directed to The Artist, the comment she made is exactly right. We're not sitting next to you, we have no idea what's going on with your Kindle. The more information you can give in your post about exactly what's going on the better we can help you. There was nothing "smart !@!" about that, it was useful information for you to consider the next time you ask for help here.
