I have converted a recipe book into a html file via mobipocket. All pictures are either jpeg's or png's. File size is only just over 1mb. When I send it to my kindle fire via my kindle email the pictures don't show up, yet when I look at it through a kindle previewer on my pc the pictures are showing up. I have contacted support and they sent me suggestions in which everything I have done complies. Can anyone help.

Are the pictures separate from the html file on your computer? Maybe they need to be sent to the Fire as well. Pictures are not often embedded in an html file. Check also in Mobipocket to see what it tells you about that.

I believe John has the answer to your question. Pictures are not embedded into an html file. They are kept as links to the file instead. It works on your computer because the pictures are on your computer, so it can find them.

Oh okay that explains why. I notice that when you 'import' the word document, it creates a publication folder and that is where the pictures sit.
I just have another question then, is there a way you can get around this without sending the whole folder.
Also, the book is going to be uploaded and sold on amazon and I am thinking this will also be a problem. Any more suggestions?

@C. O'Meara: There are links in the html file to the folder that contains the pictures, so you can't change that easily. I suggest that you contact Amazon and ask them how you should send the files to them.
