Just got my Kindle Fire in the mail. Am charging it now. But... absolutely no instructions came with it. Any suggestions on what next steps are once I get it charged? Are there downloadable instructions anywhere? I called Amazon customer service and they had no clue!!! Really disappointed right now.

There is a little brown pull out piece of paper in the top of the box lid. Once you get into the Fire, the use guide is on the device.

The fire comes with the guide preloaded. Plus, you can find it online on the amazon site.

I finally found the little start up instruction card that was mentioned by another contributor to this site. I had to rip apart the mailing box the get it out. It gives you enough instructions to get started and the user guide is already installed on the Kindle Fire. Thanks to all that responded and helped me.

Rosario you need to restart your internet

I've been unable to download WiFi too.
Ditto for downloading electricity, or sparkling mineral water.

Having trouble getting a Wi Fi connection. Nobody seems to have any helpful guidance. Do you?

John, do you have a WiFi network set up in your home? Do you use other wireless devices such as laptops?

Totally agree that there should be printed instructions with the unit. It would be easier to follow with a printed piece in front of you. Amazon you have created a great product BUT some people are not computer smart.

I absolutley agree.Paying out 200.00 for a non instructive item leaves one with the feeling of discuss. The Kindle people would do everyone a great service by making instructions so that beginners like myself would be able to follow these instructions like a beginner. Not like someone who grew up with computers.

Mr. Spellman-
Copy and paste each of these links into a computer browser and you will be well versed in the Kindle Fire.

As an easier alternative, I would recommend the book by Bufo Calvin

It will save you a lot of time.

I thought that plug it in, press the button, slide to unlock were all pretty simple instructions. Hardly any new products come with printed manuals anymore. I'm fine with that. I just think it's ironic that people buying a device to read ebooks want a printed manual to come with the device! If you follow the instruction card you can pull up the manual on the Kindle itself and then learn how to set everything else up - no problem! Of course you have to actually read the instruction card first and follow said instructions in order to do that.

Clicking on books and then on cloud. Sort by most recent. You should see your books there.
