I've tried to watch movies on prime and keep getting a message that adobe acrobat is not installed. When I click on the install Adobe Flash, I get an error saying it can't download? Any ideas? Thanks

I think you need to contact CS. I watch Instant Videos all the time. It already has Flash installed.

Yeah, I just got off the phone with tech support after trying to catch a 15 sec clip of House on Fox.com.... found out that the Fire's "support of flash" is limited to "movies on Amazon"... whatever that means. What it means to us is that we still can't watch flash on the internet-meaning any industry standard flash on the internet... CBS, Fox, NBC.... "C'Mon Man!!!!" lol. Hoping for a solution for that ..... CC

CC this is not quite correct. I'm sure that Amazon CS only supports amazon video, but while there is some flash stuff that doesn't work (including the upload function on Amazon's own cloud drive website!), there is plenty that does, and not just Amazon video. I have watched HBO Go on my Fire, for example.

I cannot get Fox.com to work on our Fire. I've tried updating the version of Flash, I've ensured we have all of the Kindle updates, etc.

Same as above. I cannot access any video from abc, nbc, fox, foodnetwork, etc etc. All sites give a message asking for flash player 10.1 (or most recent) to be installed. No problem watching Amazon videos, but nothing yet from the web.

Eventually HTML 5 will replace Flash at which point you won't need Flash. Just wait it out.

From another thread...I switched to desktop rather than mobile view and am using accelerate mode. All is working well now and video from network websites are streaming.

I had a problem with the Flash Player, too. Look in the Kindle Settings. The Flash option was turned off on my device. I turned it on and after that I had no problems.. didn't have to download anything to make it work.

This is actually new in the 6.2.2 software that just rolled out, and wouldn't have been the case earlier when this thread was started.

I'm sure that we'll be seeing a lot more of this problem since they defaulted it to off. What were they thinking?!!

When your browser is open, tap the Menu icon at the bottom center. Scroll down to the "Behavior" area, then "Enable Flash" and select "Always On."

I will be glad when everyone finally gets away from flash all together. Not too much longer.

Fox.com, Abc.com, Nbc.com, etc. work on my Fire.

The only negative is that those sites are not optimized for mobile devices, so the audio/video is out of sync.

Thank you so much for this thread. I received the Fire for Christmas and had no problems watching anything until a week ago. Then everything I went to said to install flash. Read this, Americus post told me exactly where to look, no more problems.

I have followed the suggestions to set Flash to Always On and to switch to Desktop View, but when I try to watch Fringe on Fox I still get the error message to update the Flash. What else can I do to fix this problem?

My name is morgan. Ok had the same problem. Turned out my kindle had disabled flash. Open your web browser and go to its settings ( it will be on the same bar as the go back button) find the flash and enable it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried enabling Flash to be Always On but I still get the error message that Flash needs to be updated when I try to watch Fringe at fox.com

Well Jeffrey, I doubt that Flash for mobile will ever be updated again. The up side is that its a good thing. Lets just move toward html5 and forget that flash ever existed. If it actually did.
