109,989 posts ago the Ward was established by a guy who told a funny story about waiting for his new Kindle to arrive. He quickly lost control of that thread as it was hijacked by a group of strangers who shared the love of reading and who all had the same zany outlook on life with its various twists and turns. We were really having fun so we quickly became friends because we weren't allowed to talk to strangers and we didn't want to stop. It was obvious to all who inhabit the Amazon Discussion Universe that a group of people who were having that much fun had to be kept away from normal folk so this Ward was established to keep us all together. We all hang around here because this was where the meds are passed out and the adult beverages are available!

Now we are moving into the twelfth incarnation of our funny farm. Each time we move we add to the place! What started as a simple day room with a medicine locker and a few chairs has grown into a palatial asylum with multiple accommodations. Over the last 11 threads we have added a lounge with fully stocked bar and padded rafters for those who like to hang out above the hustle and bustle taking place at ground level. We added a large kitchen for those who are cooks and want to share their recipes. When Zee, our exotic inmate from the bottom half of the world, introduced us to the idea of bubble barrels we just had to have some so we put them in and built a luxury day spa around them that includes an Olympic sized swimming pool and private cabanas.

If you go out back you'll find the Kindle Tree growing up on the hill. We don't talk about what has happened in and around the Kindle Tree. It has been witness to some rather tragic events that are just best not spoken about! Just on the other side of Kindle Tree Hill are animal barns where we keep the various creatures that wander through here from time to time. We have housed a Yeti there in the past as well as a small herd of elephants that we kept for paper production.

So now you know how this wondrous facility came to be and how it wound up the way it is now. Please feel free to wander about and look at the new things we have added during thread 11. We solicit your suggestions about anything new you'd like to see. Here in the Ward all it takes to have your heart's desire is saying it out loud!

A special note to the ladies of the Ward: The new boas are on the bar!

I like it! So glad I came downstairs to get my iPad and decided to check up on the ward - my timing was perfect to catch the closing and opening.

Now it's Sunday over here, and time for me to get to bed, but just want to say happy Mother's Day to all the moms. Hope you all have a great day!

I've been lusting over a Black Grand Cherokee but gas prices make me cringe

Eta: just told hubby that's what I'm gonna get & he says, "you can't have black, all your cars are black". Scuse me, did you just tell a grown retiree, who's worked from the age of 16, that she CAN'T have something? Big mistake, HUGE!
