seven month old kindle fire will no longer charge. i purchased a new charger.

Did the new charger work? I have a 3 month old one that has the same problem, and want to know whether it's worth buying a new charger to see if it's the FIRE or the charger.

If you can't do anything and you keep getting that screen with the huge battery with red end and it says something like you can't open because the battery is too low and every thing you try does not work, it is dead. Call customer support. And never, ever let the battery get past the second bar from the bottom again..............in my case, the charger that came with my Fire was faulty.

My kindle seemed dead too and wouldn't charge trying multiple chargers. I then tried holding the power button in for 30 seconds and it shut down. It powered right back up normally after that and was actually completely charged. I guess somehow it had gotten hung up (locked up) while powering off and left the screen dark grey (looking like it was off but not..)?? Anyways, the 30 second trick worked for me!

I went to charge my Fire overnight, it gave me the green light so I figured it was going to work and didn't wait for the orange light. Instead of charging my Fire drained so it couldn't be charged or opened or anything.

I charged it overnight and still didn't get the green light. However, it didn't charge completely,about three quarters of the way. What is the issue with the battery that it does this. The first time I charged it, it took less than four hours. Now it takes longer.

It didn't charge it if you didn't get a green or orange light. Green first opens your Fire, orange light means it is charging, last green means it is charged. The problem is! not with the battery, but rather the charger (even the one that came with your Fire) OR the connection, either on the end of the charger or the female part on the Fire being corrupt. GET HOLD OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, HAVE THEM CALL YOU!

I would plug the kindle into the wall and the orange indicator light would turn on. However, even after being charged over night, the device was still at 18 % charged. And everytime I would unplug the Kindle from the wall, the charge was rapidly decrease from 18 % to single digits. I called in February, and they sent me a brand new Kindle Fire. Well...it August and three days ago, it wouldn't charge again. So, they are sending me another Kindle Fire in the mail from Amazon. Not sure why the device is doing this. I have charged it from 7 % battery before and it would charge very quickly....now it won't even turn on.

The answer to all your questions regarding the Fire not charging & Prime membership & the charger is ALWAYS going to be CALL AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE. Your warranty covers you for 1 year. Amazon needs to know about these problems, in fact they want to know about them because they want you to be a happy customer who will purchase another Kindle and we need them to know about the problems so that the next generations of the Fires will always improve not just cosmetically but functionally.

Don't just wonder about the problem you're having and waste YOUR time trying to figure it out and posting here. Waste some of their time by contacting them so you can go on with enjoying your Kindle or whatever else you need to be doing.
