Have you connected to wireless and sync'd yet?

I usually get pre-ordered books at 12:01 a.m. west coast time on the release date.

Edit: If you mean this book, it's not released until tomorrow:

Written in My Own Heart's Blood: A Novel (Outlander, Book 8)

I have got the whisper sync thing,I thought it would be released at midnight, and yep its new outlander novel, and my kindle says it will be released on the 10th, it makes a point of saying that ill receive it on the official release day..which is today..not tomorrow😕.still they might work on aussie time maybe, im in New Zealand and its the 10th of june..

Same here!!..first thing I did when I woke up was check my kindle..lol

I'm thinking the opposite. It'll be released *tonight*, when June 9 turns to June 10 at the home base. That's not even tomorrow for you, but the next day, isn't it?

I believe they work on Seattle Washington, USA time.

When you are looking at this page and the replies .... what does the Posted date/time say?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 9, 2014 12:59:29 PM PDT
It is, because I'm on Eastern U.S. Time, and the posts are exactly 3 hours earlier than my local time.

I've found that books are generally sent to my Kindle shortly after midnight East Coast Time on release day. I'm on the West coast and typically pre-ordered books download for me at 9:15pm the evening before the release date.

On the west coast in CA I usually get the books around 9:15pm so I think they are working on East Coast Time.

I'm betting you will get the book about 8 hours from now. Maybe 8 hours 30 minutes.

CatChat says:
when a release date is posted it will be the USA date and Amazon is in the PST zone, so they go by that time when sending out ebooks.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 9, 2014 1:06:03 PM PDT
Then call amazon and complain.

No, they don't. I'm in the same time zone as Amazon and 95% of the time I get the books between 9:00pm and 9:30pm. Which is midnight and after on the east coast.

In New Zealand, They have a different amazon to USA,or UK,ours is based in Australia, in New Zealand you can only order through the Australian site,

I wonder if it depends on the author/publisher as to the "time" it's released. I live in MST zone and I've always gotten my pre-orders just after 1 a.m. But, I've only signed up for pre-orders from 2 different authors (Stephen King and his equally talented and gifted author in his own right son Joe Hill)

Couple of times I have finished a pre-orderd book before its been even been released in USA, but , its all good, the longer it takes to arrive, the more ill look forward to it.any way morning reading time is over..the day beckons...have a great day to all😊

have a good day and enjoy your book, whenever it comes.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 9, 2014 1:40:40 PM PDT
Could very well be. The publishers can probably put some kind of restrictions on the timing of the ebook release.

I average 5 pre-orders a month. I know that some have not arrived until after midnight but I can't remember the last time that happened.
