Cannot follow some authors

So I've been buying a lot of books for kindle lately, and I can't follow some authors. Since I like so many authors (I read about 1 book a day), I'd like to be able to follow them all so that I get an email as soon as a new book is out. It works for some, and doesn't work for others.

I'd like to know what that is about. For example this book :
Executable (The Demon Accords)

The author is John Conroe and I love his books but I can't get email updates when new books come out. Why?

That's just not a service Amazon provides. However, if you go here and sign up, they will send an e-mail like that for any author(s) you request:

It's also useful for reading series in order.

Grimwinder says:
Most authors these days run their own websites or Facebook page and have newsletters, so, just google (or check their Amazon author's page if they have one) your favorites and go from there.

Bufo Calvin says:
Benjamin, you can sign up for e-mail alerts from Amazon for that author, just as you can for others.

Go to John Conroe's Amazon Author Central page (you can get there by hovering over the author's name on the book's product page). You'll see the standard Amazon sign up...probably in your upper right hand corner.

I don't know that it will work "as soon as a new book is out"...I've heard people say it sometimes takes a while, but it should work.

"...but I can't get email updates..."

Well, you can. Just not from Amazon.

Bufo Calvin says:
Folina, actually, you can. See my post above...I realize you might not have seen it when you posted yours.

Posted on Mar 12, 2014 3:41:15 PM PDT does the same thing, and will alert you to any price drops of books by authors youo're tracking with them. Though if you buy all the books as soon as they're released, the price drop thing probably won't matter to you :-)

Thanks a lot for your help everyone. I followed Bufo Calvin's advice and could set it up. I just didn't look hard enough :)

Thanks for the other websites too, but I like having everything in one place. And I don't care if it's not as soon as the book is out, even a month after is not too bad. There is so much to read anyway :)
