WHY is the bookstore getting more and more limited if you go through the Kindlefire?? It used to be almost as good as the website, then they slowly made it harder and harder to do searches (especially for free books). There is no way to search 'horror' at all. When you go to all categories, its not there. Then you go to all books and only 400+ books are available? I get a lot of the free books, but I also buy sometimes as well. Why make searching so difficult, and now impossible on Kindlefire??

Ummm, FWIW, last time I was shopping from my KFHD7, everything was peachy...

Edit: I checked: as others said, "Horror" is no longer a category, but search returns ~10,000 titles.

Honestly, I stopped using the Store as a shopping portal long ago. I find it so much easier to do all of my browsing and selecting here at .com, then send what I want to whichever Kindle, be it books or apps.

I'm with Folina. You need connectivity either way, so why wouldn't you use the reg webpage? I always thought of the 'store' as a stopgap for the e-ink devices.

I wonder if some folks sort of default to apps, especially if they're used to iPhones or Android phones. Maybe they figure, "There's an app for that."

But I don't like the Facebook app, for example; I always keep it on desktop view, as well as other sites that I use, even if they have an app available.

It works fine, it just keeps getting more and more limited as to selection and searching.

Sometimes, I am outside or in another room, and don't want to have to get on my computer to check out new and/or free books. The kindlestore as fine when I first got my kindle. It still works fine, it just became so limited, its almost worthless.

Amazon probably WANTS people to use the full site.

I just wondered why they keep changing it little by little to include less selection/ways to search. You would think they want people to be able to access more, not less.

If dot com isn't so limited and the Store is, then the Store actually isn't fine. You can shop dot com from your device just as you can on a computer.

LOL maybe...but that would not make sense for when people are away from home or on vacation...amazon would still want them to be able to spend $ right?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2013 8:39:26 AM PDT
Again, maybe to make people give up the app and browse the full store. I dunno. I'm just guessing. If you really want to know, you might want to email Amazon and ask. See what they say.

no its not the same through the device, that's my complaint LOL

Why would it not make sense? You have to have wi-fi either way. If you have wi-fi available, it's JUST as easy to navigate to the full site.

Yes. It is. Open the web browser. Type in http://www.amazon.com.

And there you are.

I see what you mean, haha, but then it becomes a lot about scrolling and enlarging, etc. I don't use the web through my fire very much because of the size.

Are you using the tablet in landscape position? It's quite easy to see websites.

You can search horror.
1 goto store
2 hit the ladder thing on side bar select browse
3 then select lit. Fiction on upper left
4 then select horror

JATM says:
"browse" is no longer a link, you have to choose from the catagories they have underneath "browse"

Posted on Jun 18, 2013 8:50:33 AM PDT
Are you hitting the ladder icon , im not talking about links.

Posted on Jun 18, 2013 8:52:01 AM PDT
JATM says:
you can go down and click 'more categories' but horror is still not there. you can click 'all books' but then it will only show about 475 books. and then horror will be like 2. its really weird why they would change it up like this.

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 18, 2013 8:54:40 AM PDT
