You can't download apps from Amazon. You'll have to look elsewhere, like getjar or 1mobile.

Actually that's not correct any more, Artist. Last month the Fire (and the appstore availability) was released internationally, and Honduras is on the list of supported countries:

Marta, I'm not sure what the problem might be, because I'm also international (Australia) and haven't had any real experience with the appstore yet; you may need to contact Amazon customer service for advice.

if it's a 1st generation Kindle Fire, you won't be able to buy apps using the kindle itself, though you will be able to go to the App Store on amazon.com and purchase apps (not all apps will be available to you as they're not available to me TETRIS® Blitz isn't, but TETRIS® Blitz is)

if it's a 2nd generation Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD, you might need to make sure you have the currently firmware update - check here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_200127470_software?nodeId=200529680

and you will need to have a credit card on the account

Out of curiosity, CBR, if you've got a 1st gen Fire what happens after you've bought the apps online - do they download via wifi or do you have to download to computer and transfer via USB?

the person I saw posting about it, if I remember right, just turned on wireless and synced and it showed up in their Cloud - that's what I had to do suring the short period when my Kindle Fire HD could purchase apps from amazon.com (before amazon turned off my ability to do so) using a PC

Thanks. I thought it was only for other countries that had Amazon sites.

It's hard to keep track :-) I probably only know about it because Australia is one of the new countries.

Incidentally, if you scroll down below the list of countries who can now access the US app store on that link I gave, it also lists the other Amazon sites and what countries they cover.

CBRetriever says:
it changed just before June 13th (release date of the Kindle Fire HD worldwide except for certain countries)
