When I touch the music tab on my kindle fire hd 8.9 the screen goes black and back to the carousel. I cannot bring up my music that I downloaded and bought from Amazon. This just started happening and I tried the reboot to no avail. I am not a prime subscriber. Any suggestions?

Try resetting your Amazon MP3 (green) or Amazon Music (orange) App.

On your Home page:

* Settings (swipe down from the top of the screen)
* More > Applications > Installed Applications
* Swipe down to the App in question
* "Clear Data"

I did what you suggested. I had the Amazon Music (orange) app. After clearing data I tapped the music tab on the navigation bar and it took me to the music store. I swiped to the right and tapped songs under library and it took me right back to the carousel. So I tapped the music tab again and black screen back to carousel.

I also had a box pop up that says "Amazon Music Crash"
Unfortunately the app has crashed. Help us out by clicking 'Send Report' to notify us of the error so we can improve our app. So I clicked Send Report.

I'd suggest that you contact Kindle Customer Service to let them know what happened and so they can help you get it up and running.

Click on this link and fill in the information:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/kindle-help.html
You may have to sign in. I would use the PHONE or CHAT options.
Do *NOT* use e-Mail.
CALL ME under the PHONE tab is great if available.
They will call you within minutes.

Update. I called support and ended up doing a factory reset. Problem solved.
