Jane Austen says:
Where can I find the titles of the Kindle books from the Amazon Prime lending library? It will help me decide if I get a membership or not.

That's a really bad criteria on which to decide. You ONLY get 1 book a month, and the list is limited.

That said, I find the Amazon Instant Videos that are included with Prime (again, also limited, but a LOT to choose from) *is* worth the $79/year.

I agree that the KOLL should not be the sole criteria on which to base the decision to get Prime but it could help. I really do not buy enough physical mercandise to make the free shipping worth the $79 as year to me but if I was close (sadly I am not) the KOLL and/or the Prime Videos might put me over the edge.

Indeed. I've estimated the retail cost of all the individual episodes of all the shows our household watched in a year, with the average cost per episode being $1.99. Even rounded down for the cheaper Season Passes, we've watched THOUSANDS of dollars worth, for $79.

And I *do* use the heck out of the shipping, so all those videos (and the books) are totally free (in my situation).

Jane Austen says:
Thanks all! I don't order much from Amazon except Kindle books, and I don't watch many videos. So not sure if Prime is worth it if I don't watch instant videos or need two-day free shipping.

Jane, you can only borrow one low cost book per month. And you don't keep the book. Prime is not a good buy for someone who doesn't want/need the shipping benefit, and who also doesn't make use of the videos.

The books I've borrowed average $4.00 apiece, so even buying them would only cost $48.00 over 12 months.

If borrowing books is something you are interested in, I suggest you look in to your public library. Many now offer e-books.

Yes, because Prime is a shipping program. It was around long before Kindles were even invented. The KOLL and Videos were added about 2 years ago, as a side perk.

Folina did mention the one per month a few posts back.
